4:44 Album - *JAY-Z* (06/30/17).

I don't like the production on this one. Sounds like the DJ took 4 bars of a sample, chopped up each bar, then mismatched them into a loop. That or threw some weird multi-fxs that warp each bar. Fucked up as dude has some good samples, especially that Legacy joint. Jay Z and older rappers like him are pretty much the set standard. It's their beats that make or break the album for me now, so I ain't fuckin with it.

That what No ID was going for four bar loops.

That much I figured, but when compared to the better loops of Reasonable Doubt and American Gangster, this shit don't hold a candle.

Ok. I sat with the album. In my opinion this album is a solid 3/5. The substance of some of the records is dope but not profound. The entire time I spent listening to 4:44 I found myself wishing Common had these beats. Jay's flows were lazy throughout the album. His wordplay was basic, especially for him. Damn maintains its title for album of the year.
