The majority of Vince Staples 'summertime' was done by him as well.

No ID worked on Common first 3 albums. And a couple in the last few years. Kanye was NO ID protege. Thats why the 'Blueprint' sounds like 'One day it'll all make sense'. A combination of soulful and hard beats.

Jayz catalog is already legendary, it's those artist that's chasing him not the other way around. It's ridiculous to me to ask if a legend has to top artist that's still making their mark in the game. I didn't say he didn't have to try to make a good album

I liked that. I think it's his best last album but it sounded like an EP of the first 'Blueprint' album .. to me

I always looked at it as a natural successor to 'reasonable doubt', but way more grandiose in execution.

this was true 3-4 albums ago yet he's still compared to the "top tier" guys in some form or fashion.

i'm only asking cuz the hype is real with every new Jay album and i'm pretty sure the hate will spew ridiculously, people will be let down somehow some way and the comparisons to the others will be made.(i.e. "Jay doesn't have it no more", "he needs to hang it up"..."such and such's album is waaaaaaaaaay better than this", etc) Not saying I want comparisons I was just asking a general question. I know Jay isn't competing with the niggas beneath him that doesn't mean fans won't "force" him into competition.
