Sprint buying a million and then giving the album away as a perk to keep its customers in line is not the same as 1 million people buying the album cause they actually want it. But it's fucking stupid to equate Sprint buying copies and giving them away for free to people buying them themselves. A RIAA certification is supposed to give an idea of how popular an album is. It doesn't mean anything, people aren't actually buying the album. That goes for anybody, not just Jay.
