3 years later: Yall still think Kendrick had the best verse on Control?

Kendrick verse was dope for the necessary name drops 3 years ago.

Listening now though, I like Sean verse better. After Dark Skies Paradise, I went back and listened to alot allot of Sean shit. The Reason won't admit it, but current top 3 of Hip hop goes:

Kendrick

Cole

Sean

That Detroit mixtape is better than dark sky paradise.

Yeah, because he called out what he views as the entire rap game BY NAME. His verse will go down in rap history for that alone.

It's not even a question who had the best verse.

I asked it though. And we've got some varying answers in here.

Kendricks verse is all hype. Take away him name droppin and you get your standard Kendrick verse. It don't mean it wasn't dope, it's just not as amazing as folks make it out to be.

You can't accurately judge the verse w/o the name dropping though because that's a huge part of it. Of course if you take away that part it wouldn't make as much of an impact.

Objectively, now that the shine is off the apple, I appreciate Big Sean's verse more than Kendrick. Kendrick brought a crazy level of energy and wordplay but Sean had coherent thoughts and meaningful content. People under-reacted to Big Sean just as much as they overreacted to Kendrick Lamar.

All that being said Jay Electronica had the best verse. The fact that he had the shortest verse having not heard anyone else's verse makes alot of a difference. His shit was like fighting a Monk who can hit pressure points to knock you out in 5 seconds flat.

1st time listening to this in a while I said Kendrick then and still feel that way

"I'm silent as a rock cuz I came from a rock, that's why I came from a rock and signed my name on the Roc" yall really think Jay elec had the best verse in this song? Lol

Come on man, you rap too. You know those lines aren't as simple as you're making them seem
