That's amazing, or should I say unbelievable considering the fact that he's pretty-much a trap/street artists with a lil bit of buzz and support mainly from the hood. My point is this, if your not getting support from a lot of white folk and your not really mainstream hot...the chances of you doing numbers like these are slim to none. The label has to be buying up some of these albums and/or these are the number of albums shipped not the number of albums actually sold!! 2Chainz is just simply not that great or mainstream enough to sell to more than people in the hood and in order to manage numbers like these you have to have a lot of white people buying your album. Not happening!! Dude's doing better than far-more well known artists with a broader audience.

record labels are notorious for buying a bunch of their own units of artists just to make the fans and opposition think they're selling like crack in the '80s hoping they'd recoup that money back. sometimes it works, sometimes it backfires. this is very well-known and you might have a point.

then again, this is just more evidence of the dumbing down of this piss-poor nation we're cursed to live in at the present moment.
