Pop That, No Lie, Diced Pineapples were all over the place last year and Drake has the #2 rap song in the country right now. His last album had 3 #1 rap singles and a #2 as well as another gold selling single that all carried well into 2012. Drake is already breaking records. His popularity is unquestionable.

Kendrick's success is really impressive but Drake's first week sales were more than 3 times as much.

Pretty much everything Drake touches turns to platinum so I don't see how anyone is hotter than him right now.

The hottest mc in the game is based on the past 12 months not just the last 3 weeks. Kendrick in 2012 brought him and his crew a national respect. his album was a pure hip hop album that was the best of the year and he is still on the charts and still getting solid sales. The billboard hot 100 isn't the end all be all of the criteria mtv is looking at which is the last 12 months.
