What i am getting at is that there is music for us 30+ hip hop heads can listen to without seeming like we try to be cool listening to some shit that is not market towards us.

Aging in hip-hop is beautiful and there is music that i can listen to, DJ QUIK is the one i always cop

Theres great rap out from all regions and age groups right now though. I'm a 90's east coast rap fan more than anything else but what is all this "soft shit" you talkin bout? Are dudes like kendrick, nipsey, game, joey bada$$ soft??

bruh do you read posts or do you skip through them, go to my 2nd post and come back.......

The game is going for a different demographic now, i have all his albums up to LAX after that i think he got lost, DR'S ADVOCATE is his best album and it still get burn from me

*reads 2nd post*, aiight I get what you saying now. I feel you because I fuck with that shit as well. I do think that some of those albums get overrated because they have a sound thats missing and when people get it they go nuts. Phonte's joint was a prime example, the good songs were really good but the album was very hit or miss. It was nice but nothing like the classics LB spit(I know I can't expect him to get back to that). Anyways I think the trend will continue in 2013, with hip-hop heads becoming more diverse and the internet giving rappers access to great producers w/out ever having to see them I think we'll see more of the same in 2013...

I still Play LB's first two albums habitually. They have been on every ipod ive owned since both of those albums came out.

Ayo, "After the Party" still cracks me up. That beat is ridiculous.

Another feel good album...

Juicy j and 2 chainz are old as fuck

yes they are and by the lyrics who can tell what demographic they are aiming at, now 2chainz might have some shit i might like but to tell you the truth i only heard what i hear on the radio and it's some cool club shit...

Maybe i am becoming that grumpy old man, but it's certain shit i can listen to no more, that dont mean i am soft but the mind set is different and music is different.

case in point in my SUV i got Tha Dogg Pound DOGG FOOD, DJ QUIK Safe N Sound, rhythm al ism, Balance N Options, and Raekwon Shalion vs Wu Tang in my cd changer

Now Quik album and Dogg Food when it dropped those brothers was in their 20's but the music is so smooth and got grown folks production and real life lyrics, yeah there is shit like bomb ass pussy but it's very few in between.

Im young, but i can appreciate grown hip hop with smooth production and mature subject matter

Hip hop has passed the phase of being only young people music, alot of rappers and listeners are in their 30s and 40s

Did you ever get to see a show of theirs? so pissed they disbanded. I was/is a huge LB Junkie since The minstrel Show came out. got all their shit. Back in like 07-09 i thought Justus League was gonna blow the fuck up, then it all dismantled...

Every year the city of Boston has a free "Hip Hop festival" lasts a few days culminating with performances in Government Center, they hosted the first year and did a show after.

This was before the Minstrel Show, but a bit after The Listening, show was dope been a fan since.

My guy got kicked off the T for Beatboxing, he kept hitting on Scarface "My block"just shouting the chorus, one of the Engineers was like "your beats is tight, but you can't cuss"... shit was hilarious.

Yo proof thanks for the thread. I sometimes feel the same way Thanks to others for posting some shit for me to research and vibe to. I can't be bumping some of todays hip-hop in the whip acting like i am a young scrappa anymore.

MaddGibbs ep &

Freddie Gibbs BFK should make that list, both albums were raw, I'm grown and I can fuck with either in the whip.

Add Blu & Exile - Give Me My Flowers While I Can Still Smell Them , to the feel good list.

I went to two shows...One time, back when "Chitlin Circuit 1.5" came out...They were doin a show at UNC and my friend cousin was goin there so we were already on campus visiting...The second time was after they did they Gangsta Grillz tape, and hit some club in Charlotte...I rode up to catch that and they rocked the hell out that shit...

(@Waterproof all due respect, not trying to derail your thread.)

Anybody else first hear Elzhi on Binary Star K.G.B.?

I know I did and the next time I heard him was with Little Brother because I didn't pick up Slum Village Detroit Deli until about the same time the Minstrel show came out, anyhow it's crazy to see how far he's come.

Peep...
