serious question who is lyrical 2 you then... i kno everybody has they own opinion but imo his flow and ginding has made him a solid name this year.... dont be suprised if next year he on a r&b joint wit a top r&b artist.... scracth dat he got dat song wit trey songz...

To me nas, cube, common are lyrical. to me personally it's more about having subject matter to go along with your flow. Now that isn't every instance. There are times when you can spit clever shit and not have to necessarily have that subject matter to go along with it. I don't think 2 chainz is terrible by any means, but i can't call him lyrical b/c all of his rhymes lack subject matter. He does have some clever word play but most of the shit just makes me laugh. It doens't make me think or say oh that shit was dope. Half the time he's barely rhyming. Take busta and twista who both rhyme fast as shit. Flow is good, but they aren't saying anything of substance. That's not really lyrical to me. that's a matter of their flow. on songs when busta puts some feeling in his track he usually slows down a bit Kendrick is lyrical. Wale is a good example as well. His earlier shit was more lyrical to me b/c he had more subject matter. Now he's more spitting to be spitting with clever line and wordplay. I guess in a sense it's stilll lyrical but to me it loses a little luster.

ok I see what u sayin and respect it... IMO yo subject matter could be about football but if u got good word play and flow it qualifies as lyrical... 2 chainz talks about money drugs guns ect but common nas ect does so 2 jus in a different way.....

2 Chainz is cool but I dont think theres anything special about him. I guess I'm just getting older because a lot of shit niggas say is jammin now makes me scratch my head. I was born, raised and still live in the south, and I'm not impressed. Some songs are cool, but I couldnt listen to dude all day because he really aint talkin about shit. He might get a little bigger but I don't see him getting to TI's level or hell even Jeezy's.......

He's from the south so I support him and want him to succeed but I can't see me buying his album.....

What is it with this St. Lunatic reject and the retarded threads, smh.

2chainz ain't bad(I actually really like most of his music),grindin(hell yeah he been puttin in work) but to say he is the most lyrical this year? STFU!
He ain't too bad at all, has some nice punchlines and flows well, but in no way is contender for top dog in terms of lyrical content.
Want someone who easily surpasses him and talks that drug shit? Pusha-T
Half this thread is valid, the other hogwash.

He must've got all this fame from the name change because he's been around for a minute. I wouldn't say he is lyrical imo but I guess nowadays he is considered to be. i blame Wayne for lowering the bar and saying anything to spark the low attention span of my generation. he is on his grind to get his name out there so I can't knock that, he alright.
