There are times when you can spit clever shit and not have to necessarily have that subject matter to go along with it. I don't think 2 chainz is terrible by any means, but i can't call him lyrical b/c all of his rhymes lack subject matter. He does have some clever word play but most of the shit just makes me laugh. It doens't make me think or say oh that shit was dope. Half the time he's barely rhyming. Take busta and twista who both rhyme fast as shit. Flow is good, but they aren't saying anything of substance. That's not really lyrical to me. that's a matter of their flow. on songs when busta puts some feeling in his track he usually slows down a bit Kendrick is lyrical. Wale is a good example as well. His earlier shit was more lyrical to me b/c he had more subject matter. Now he's more spitting to be spitting with clever line and wordplay. I guess in a sense it's stilll lyrical but to me it loses a little luster.

I was born, raised and still live in the south, and I'm not impressed. Some songs are cool, but I couldnt listen to dude all day because he really aint talkin about shit. He might get a little bigger but I don't see him getting to TI's level or hell even Jeezy's.......
He's from the south so I support him and want him to succeed but I can't see me buying his album.....
CrookedLetter;3949946 said:He aint the most lyrical, but he has been grindin, he also has a lot of business sense, so he should be around for a while
damobb2deep;3955828 said:I feel you... I think he is doin good... IMO he don't need 2 get to t.i level... Jeezy or Gucci mabe... but but dats the highest you can go b4 you start Gettin too watered down...
