Dude's flow is pure. His '88 mixtape and the project he made rapping over some of Solange's songs (A Seat at the Table Plus One) is dope.
Looking forward to seeing what he becomes.
Cole don't make hits, shit that rocks in the club, or has hot features...if you don't understand that his success is in spite of those things, I can't help ya bruh
I agree that Cole has commercial success. I just think that success is generated in a large part by his fanbase and having the powers that be behind him rather than the type of music he makes (which is good for him, b/c he gets the success he wants and doesn't have to conform).

Anyone know why the "We Don't Die" joint he performed on the Colbert Report isnt on the album? Would've loved to see that slide in right before "Complexion".
Was hoping for the beat on that trailer video to make its way on the album too...Looks like UMG wiped that trailer from the net altogether.
I dont see the Aquemini comparison, but I do think the production, interludes, and overall sound of the first half of the album is heavily influenced by Idlewild.
Lupe's album gave me the most rewinds and I think its the strongest album from front to back between the lyrics, production, concepts, and cohesion.
Kritt's is more well rounded out of all the listed albums and if it wasnt for a couple hiccups would have my vote for the best.
Kendrick's from...
Been unproductive as hell at work for the last week listening to this. Not an album you can listen to in passing.
Love the album and that he made the album he wanted to make...Not ready to put it above The Cool tho, and doubt I ever will.
Lyrically The Carter, but The Block is Hot is the only album I ever felt any soul in his music...just became a nice spitter around the 500 Degreez/Carter series time
Co-sign on the no classics for Weezy....unless we talking mixtapes
