I wouldnt call it fickle, if ur just used to an artist puttin out a certain caliber of music, then that stops then I see no problem with questioning it. Not to say that jeezy was ever the greatest emcee, but he once was great at making listenable music.

Exactly, Jeezy used to make hot tracks with little to no effort, and from my memory he never really had a problem crafting a hit single. im not really understanding why this nigga seems to be strugglin so much with his music.

The thing is Jeezy's never really had a smash single at least not w/o a big artist featured on it. This is album #4 which is where a lot of artists have progressed and established themselves. Jeezy's at that space now, but it's like he doesn't know where to go next. Gucci and his crew have pretty much filled the space occupied by Jeezy. I mean notice how T.I. expanded his sound after Trap Muzik which left the whole trap sound open for Jeezy. Jeezy occupied that space when T.I. moved on. Now Gucci Mane occupies the lane that Jeezy left open except Jeezy hasn't moved on.

Well put. However I still think there's hope for Jeezy. Trap or Die 2 was aiight, but it didn't live up to the high expectations. His last solid release was Trappin' ain't dead and that was released 1,5 year ago. He needs to find himself again and do what he does best. I heard he would drop his album in the summer but all his singles he dropped this year were lackluster and failed to garner interest so the album keeps getting pushed back. He needs a smash single like "Put On" or "Go Getta" if he wants to reclaim his spot. I think it's too early to say he fell off though. Let's wait till the abum drops...

Georgia Boi's post was good because he described Jeezy's situation.

I think Jeezy's problem right now is he tried to expand his material and refresh his rapstyle. He left what made him hot in the first place, his simple raps, beatselection, subject material based on the trap and his signature add libs, and tried to get more lyrical and introspective but he was never that nice to begin with (and that's coming from a fan). I was listening to TM101 a while back and I noticed how much he's improved and progressed rapwise but also how back then he made bangers while he ain't had a banger for a while now.

While I respect Jeezy's progression he need to get back to wehat made him stand out in '04/'05. He not on the right track now and it's no coincidence that he got outshined by all bonafide rappers on his latest joints. He need to go back to what made him hot to begin with (n/h)...

Agreed, no surprsie his time is up. He should be grateful for how far he got cause there's nothing special about him.

i neva understood his appeal anyway.
he's an overachiever....

Black folks have a tendancy to root for the underdog or whoever they view as being the "realest".

Gucci Mane killed the mystique of Jeezy being the realest nicca on earth, and Jeezy's music lost its potentcy.. :(

This shit kinda wack, but Trap or Die 2 was damn near classic for real. That shit just dropped like 3 monhts ago

True. Where would you put Ross in that equation?
