It easilly is, you would have to live through that era to understand what that song did. The shit was everywhere and i live down here in Florida and that song got a lot of play and same for the rest of the country. You couldn't find a car not playing that song, it brought everyone to a day in the life of the west coast lifestyle.

YALL NIGGAS must be trippin to think that NUNTHIN BUT A G THANG is not the best hip-hop song of the 90's, if you wasn't born or wasn't alive and wasn't a hip-hop head of age when it dropped that you cant comment on that. That song WAS A FUCKIN MONSTER that was a HIT in AMERICA period, i remember the impact of the chronic and the hype it had when it dropped. IT WAS AN HIP-HOP EVENT!!! Everybody and they grandma was playin that shit.

dead@ all about the Benjamin's though wtf, how much did puff pay for the no2 spot ?

if i ruled the world, cream etc>

but in terms of impact and what Nothin But a G thang did for the westcoast and the dominance of rap music in the charts , then yes mos def the greatest song in terms of commercial impact

me personally i would go for something with more substance

hahaha it's all about the Benjamin's being number 2 is a disgrace.

Personally, I think tracks like Juicy, I Used to Love H.E.R. and It Ain't Hard To Tell are above those previously mentioned tracks.

I'm not even sure Nuttin' But A G Thang is my favourite track from the Westcoast in the 90's... it's most definitely up there... but... there's a lot to compete with. Either way, I'd like to compose a list myself of my favourites, the 90's was a great decade.

I approve. I remember when my mom got the Doggystyle tape. I was like 6. Everytime I heard a cus word I would look at my mom in shock.

Yeah I totally agree with Nothin but a G thang. It was a smooth ass song and it was timeless. One of those songs that still sound good NOW. U know you its a banger when when u relate that song more to Dre and Snoop than the person they sampled it from. Best song on one of the best albums of the 90's

Me Against The World was a long, long way ahead of I Get Around.

XXL Ranks Dr Dre's “Nothin’ But A G Thang" # 1 On Their List Of Top 250 Hip Hop Songs Of The 90's

In an upcoming special issue XXL will take on the tough task of ranking the top 250 rap songs of the 90's.

http://www.thisis50.com/profiles/blogs/xxl-ranks-dr-dres-nothin-but-a
Dr Dre's "Nothin' But A G Thang" which featured Snoop Dogg takes the # 1 spot. Diddy's "All About The Benjamins" remix with it's all star line up of Notorious B.I.G., The Lox and Lil Kim come in at # 2.

XXL Ranks Dr Dre's “Nothin’ But A G Thang" # 1 On Their List Of Top 250 Hip Hop Songs Of The 90's

Other songs that made the list according to MTV include 2Pac's "California Love" (# 7), Pete Rock and CL Smooth’s “They Reminisce Over You” (# 10), Ice Cube’s “No Vaseline” (# 58), and Scarface's "I Never Seen A Man Die" (# 99).

The criteria used to rank the songs is not known, but it will be interesting to see where songs like Mobb Deep's "Shook Ones Part II" (which should have made the cut), rank up against more radio friendly songs like MC Hammer's "U Can't Touch This" (which did make the list at # 115).

The one thing we can all agree on is that there are bound to be a lot of disagreements among fans regarding the rankings.

We'll find out May 24 when the issue hits newsstands.

"Mind Playing Tricks on Me" >>>>>>

"Nuthin' But a G Thang" is one of the best though, can't front. The fact that it took nonsensical, shitty lyrics and turned them into timeless classic lines is just unbelievable!
