Would the legacy of rap be better if they had stopped it in '94?

id say since march 1997...but since about 2000 you can probably count that amount of true classics on one hand

Nah, I'd say 1994. But 1997 is not unreasonable.

None of these would have been worth it. The problem is that things started being more bad than good in the 1990s, so it doesn't matter how good a later album was. If the production of rap stopped today, rap's legacy would be in worse shape than if it had stopped in 1994 -- a lot worse.

Nigga, stop bitchin' and go join a Big Brothers Big Sisters program if you're that fuckin' concerned about the state of black America. Actin' like niggas started sellin' crack after Chronic Dropped. Fuck outta here nigga.

You misunderstand me. This thread isn't about how harmful hip hop is. This is about the quality of the music. I was a huge rap fan at one time.

But who is to say those albums aren't worth it? that's just your opinion I enjoyed those albums It's legacy would be greatly diminished if it died out out in 94 and the genre wouldn't even be mentioned. Folks would just be ike yall remember that rap shit yeah it was cool for a second but that bullshit died off. We would all be on here arguing about the Beattles vs elvis

Oh, I assumed this was another one of your "save the black race from the internet" campaigns.

You might not like those albums, but I like those albums b/c they define my childhood and adolescence.
