I used a NetGear extender it worked well without error

Hmm I got a 2nd router I can maybe use as a repeater /extender/bridge but they say you gotta buy PowerLine adapters to do that method

yeah, they work.

my wifi router is in the crawl space on the bottom floor, and the comp on the 3rd floor needs a boost. so i got a range extender for the middle floor, and it's flawless.

yeah you can do that as well. youtube the set up not that bad BUT make sure they're the same speed to keep your speeds the same

This is the 1st time I've ever heard anyone say anything positive about net gear lol. Does it need to plug in to the router or modem?

nope it was a 1 button WPS button set up for me then you just plug it into an outlet halfway between your dead zone and the original router, it works perfect right now

Ive heard stories and read reviews where it stops working for people out of nowhere though

Never tried it but I think you should check amazon for the best reviews, ask. yahoo.com for the most recommended and make sure it matches what you already use as a router. Might be compability issues. I'm seriously considering one now, because the previous generation ones were bullshit, but i'm assuming the technology now has improved reliability.

think Im gonna try powerline adapters next

the wifi extender works and gives my PS4 100% wifi signal but its a lot slower than really being on my routers wireless

I get like 30 mb down on my router thru wireless and only 5 mb down thru the wifi range extender @Cain

Bruh why the hell yall wirelessly connected to ps4 lmao run an ethernet cable to the back of that bih and you gone be straight just as long as u aint got a shitty modem

be careful with WPS it can be hacked easily

always use WPA/WPA2
