2pac - Young Black Male, if you listen to this song, its weird to hear Pac flowing like he a member of Bone thugs, his flow was far more diverse...

NOTE: Please don't say he got shot......and all that extra bullshit,

yes it went GOLD, which was great for a rap debut in 1991

but most fans/stans/casual listeners remember Pac for MATW and onwards....ofcourse they also remember him for Brendas Got a Baby, I Get a Round and Keep Ya Head Up, but it's rear to hear niggas mention songs from 2pacalypse or SFMN

I personally think it's cause the albums sound outdated in terms of production and also Pacs voice/delivery and flow was different, more so influenced by Chuck D and KRS

There is a obvious noticeable difference in the way he raps earlier in his career compared to later

i was listening to Trapped and it makes me wonder why niggas even doubt Pac as a lyricist

And he wasnt at his peak at first like a Nas or Jay, it does happen.

Sonically, most of both the first album and even Strictly 4...don't compare to the latter catalogue.

Plus, I don't think they're as accessible subject matter wise.

And even though you don't wanna include it, yes all the troubles and publicity definitely played a role in getting his name out there.

word to me that is his first classic to me it was a succesful considering it did'nt have major promotion that is the reason why i think it did'nt go platinum and as far as people doubting his lyrical ability that because they don't know anything about rhyme schemes etc so in my book they not qualified to talk him not being a lyricist.

i rather talk about the musical aspect, 2pacalypse had its fair share of controversy too, with politicians trying to ban it and the cop killings that it supposedly led too

but yes Sonically they do not compare minus a few songs....subject matter that a good one

Because all the controversy didn't come into play, whether people want to admit it or not.

so there is no musical difference in sound and content rite?

no change in voice?

no change in flow

no change in delivery

no change in production?

riteeeeeeee

his first album had its fair share of controversy

controversy will only get you so far....i could argue the same for Jay and his personal life and all the bullshit that goes on in his life/gimmicks

nobody will argue Jay on RD sounds completely different from Jay on BP

Co-sign.

I think Pac's last three albums were more successful because he made more accessible music. "Dear Mama" was the song that really took his career to another level.

cause it seemed like it didnt get alot of radio play for one i remeber hearing brendas got a baby on the radio and was like alrite i like that lol next time it comes on ill try 2 record it cause shit was 91 long before internet so i did what i had to do I do remeber seeing when my homes call a few times on yo mtv raps but wasnt until i get around came out until i found out that was the same guy who songs brendas got a baby..I was 12 i get around put him out there musically to a bigger audience but then all the crazy shit started to happen in his life the rape charges, the shootings, and that took his sales to plantium status dont get me wrong i love his cd but america loves contraverse and gangsta figure been that way since the wild west days and pac album sales reaped the benefits
