I wouldn't go that far, especially in Britain where it's pretty much a perfected art over here but yeah, outside of the US Kelly Rowland is still massively popular. I say fair play to her, people obviously like her music and in interviews she comes across as having far more personality and humour than Beyonce ever could so it's no surprise why people like her so much plus she said she loved London so much that that itself played a factor in her staying in the UK longer than she expected. I think she's supposed to be singing the official World Cup song with some other artists which isn't something to sniff at either. I mean the whole world (except the US of course because you don't even like football/soccer) tuning in and seeing her performing in South Africa for the opening ceremony and you're wondering why she still puts out albums?

Why she was never as big in the US I just don't know but it wouldn't be the first time a US artist couldn't even become popular in their own country or that the US have been the last country to find out and embrace its own musicians. The US stays late

It doesn't matter what their taste is, the simple fact is Kelly caters to it and they like it so what's the problem? She tried the more 'urban' thing on her second album and it didn't work bar Work which did well overseas. The songs weren't strong enough. Maybe if she has better producers for that kinda sound it might. So she did the dance track & found her zone. I lived in Paris last year and went to a music festival and when she got on stage the French went crazy & I mean crazy! I was shocked. Outside of the US Kelly gets love.
