I don't know if anybody says they "deserve" a ring but there are some guys who just can't seem to get one no matter how many coaches they fire.

i dunno, but even if it takes another ten years for lebron to actually win a championship, his stans will act like its his first season and hes the most dominant player in history

when in reality hes probably the biggest crybaby the league has had in decades

You act like this is in the hands of the star player.

Fuck being some puppet, so some owner can bleed your body dry...and when injury and age have taken hold...cut your ass or give you some bullshit deal. I'm glad these players are taking their career's in their own hands and putting themselves in positions to solidify their own legacies.

I agree with the thread starter. Its like they feel they are obligated to get a ring right of the bat instead of earning one. Some of its the media fault for allowing rings in teams sports to justify whos overall better players. It seems the days of building teams around a star and taking ur lumps for some time and eventually winning are over. Just play voltron and attempt to get cheap rings is the new way.

No player deserves a ring more than the next man. It's the media's fault that niggas think they deserve a ring. Look at Lebron...they done brainwashed the nigga into thinkin a ring is manditory for him when it's not. That's what him in Miami is all about...a damn ring. I mean, it's nice, but it's not needed.

Deserve a ring? No.
You have to earn it.

But how are you gonna knock a player for taking his career in his own hands? The ring is the ultimate goal. When you don't feel like someone is managing the team right you may have the desire to jump ship b/c you feel like you're wasting your time.

One thing I'm willing to question is how much these players really evalutate the management and coaching at other teams they are trying to go to. Are they just looking at things on paper and saying "oh shit, look at this we're stars when we're apart so we're probably unstoppable together." It's not that easy. Coaching is a factor...personnel...what type of system is being run...i digress I'm feel like I'm rambling uncontrollably.

its the ultimate goal but i dont think these new school cats are as competitive and they want the easy way out. I love the them taking their career in their hands and making power moves.

I just couldn't believe what you were saying...questioned if you really meant that. A ring is the ultimate goal...so in the mindset of a player I'd think most of them consider it to be mandatory to reach that pinnacle of success. I don't think a ring is mandatory to validate greatness...as that can be observed...and there are obviously players w/o rings who are greater than players with rings.
