the reason is hiphop started in the streets, and 90% of its artist come from this enviorment you dont hear of Justin and Beiber getting into any kind of altercations because look at how and where they grew up.

1. Who are we supposedly defending Hip Hop from?

2. Hip Hop is not a music genre, it's a culture. Thus, it REALLY doesn't need defending.

3. As stated previously, Hip Hop doesn't need defending. Neither does rap music.

People say Hiphop is Dead

We always beefing among each other

I dont hear no other Genre like Pop,Rock, Blues Beefing about Which Side is the best

or talking about Dope boys and traps

We're the only Genre that seems to have haters who get all emotional over you not liking their fav rapper

why is this???

we need to do better

Yeah you do fool...Them rock bands be kickin out members and breaking up all the damn time. They actually beef within their own camps way more than Hip Hop camps do actually. But another reason is you don't hear a lot about it until like 10 years later on an E True Hollywood story or some shit. Truth is though that in Hip Hop beef sells records but in Rock beef fucks up peoples money and breaks up crews.

2. Hip Hop is not a music genre, it's a culture.

How is the behavior of an individual in "Hip Hop culture" any different from the lifestyle of your average consumer in America?

All you do to define your "culture" is buy different name brand clothing (that is too big for you on purpose because you are just a trend follower) which is actually owned by the same parent companies that own GAP, etc.

You don't breakdance any more, but even if you did, doing a different dance from other people does not distinguish you as a separate "culture."

If you break it down far enough the nuts and bolts of any culture can be described, as just wearing different clothes and acting different. and cultures got to start somewhere so somebody has to set the trend.

false

cultures have social mores and codes of ethics that make them distinct

hip hop is just american consumerism in blackface

I took this definition from Wiki so correct me if im wrong but they say that.

culture is-The set of shared attitudes, values, goals, and practices that characterizes an institution, organization or group.

why can that not be hiphop?

it could be if hip hop's attitudes, values, goals, and practices were any different from american consumer culture

but they're not

well sense hiphop started in america it would be hard for it not to be influnced largely by American culture. sort of like....well.....if you go down to certain parts of Jamaica or Hati you will see Witch doctors and shit right? not that everyone you meet is a witch doctor or vodoo priest but the cultures heavly influence each other, thats how it is with Hiphop, you will meet certain people (me being one of them) that dress, talk and act a certain way that lets you know what Im into. not that we look that different from the avg american that you can pick one out right away but its a slight difference that makes the distinction.

if that makes any sense.
