Who's the better artist to you 3K or Black Thought

both on my top 10 list. Both are some of the few dudes who almost always come correct. You never heard some weak shit from Tariq or Andre.

I wanna say I'm leaning towards Dre, but then again Black Thought keeps on putting in work dropping high quality hip hop year after year while Dre does the opposite...

As much as I like 3Stacks, Black Thought edge him out in the "what have you done for me lately" portion.

If they were on the same track black would murk him 16 for 16 32 for 32. Not like that walk it out remix when everyone said dre killed it when granted he prolly had the better verse but his shit was like a 32 compared to 16's

I almost wanted to give it to 3 stacks seeing as Black Thought doesn't have any real solo material, but then I realized Dre doesn't really either.

BT >>>>>>>

The better artist? Dre not only raps he sings, produces, etc. He's a great artist. He's on a whole different level from Black thought as far as being an all around artist. He's in his own realm. Im more familiar to his work not saying Bt isnt a great rapper but all around artist Dre obviously does more diverse things at a ridiculous level. I wont bother to vote because These type polls go the opposite way than most people would think a lot. Goes with the whole "opposite world" theme on here.

I wish someone who voted for Black Thought respond to this.

You're right, Black Thought doesn't produce records or sing. But let's not pretend he's just a great rapper. He's the focal point and backbone for a band with a lot of moving parts and members. Also, the Roots released 14 albums, and Tariq been consistent all throughout. Besides it's not as if Andre is an accomplished singer (fuck no), or producer (1 album with loosies here and there).

#1 Im not here to discredit Black Thought, hes a GREAT rapper.

#2 you didnt prove how he's a better "artist" than Andre 3000.

I keep saying this all the time, just cuz you can do things like sing or play an insterment it doesn't make you better. If anything you're open for more criticism if you ain't on your game.

Andre is talented but he doesn't blow me away with either his singing or the production side. Ya'll act like Black Thought isn't involved in any of The Roots production. THEYRE A BAND! That's how they been able to stay consistsant for years while others are clammering for an 3Stacks album that may or may not ever come. Add to the fact that Black Thought is on his shit lyrically. Trying to give 3K the edge just really off half of a double album and some spot work here or there for some shit other than spitting just sounds like a cop out.

Just a few reasons...

"The attractive assassin, blastin the devil trespassin

Master gettin cash in an orderly fashion

Message to the fake nigga flashin

Slow up Ock, before you get dropped and closed like a caption

Fractional kids don't know the time for action

Styles got the rhythm that of an Anglo-Saxon

Round of applause, an avalanche of clappin

{*BLOW*} that's what happen, now what's your reaction?

We heavyweight traction, pro-pornographin

Specialize in science and math and original black man

Bustin thoughts that pierce your mental

The fierce rippin your sacks and

Vocal toe to toe impeccable splittin your back son

Simple as addition and subtraction

Black Thought, the infinite relaxed one

Shorties say they love it with a passion

Bring the international charm, see a squad I harass..."

"It's the elephant in the room

Created by a collision of the sun and the moon

My sonogram was an image of a gun in the womb

That was soon to be doper than heroin in a spoon

I'm astonishing, honestly my future looking promising

As my skin tone and a crystal clean onyx is

Darker thoughts let the beats break like a Amish's

I'm a stroke of genius like Mickalene Thomas is

Hip-hop and body rocking and doing it dude

I am the living definition of improving the groove

I use the same tools to shoot that Kubrick used

Take your hero to the river, give them two b-rick shoes

Who lose? If you really ain't nobody till somebody love you

I say you ain't nobody til they speaking highly of you

And what I'm sure you wouldn't want is any kind of trouble

Unless you got a crash dummy or a body double

You got a couple homies down to catch a homi- for you

Well I'mma fold niggas into origami for you

The most notorious, Poet Laureate

Whole story is glorious, stoic warriors

And I got my eyes wide open on you quasi-

Haters still smirking like the gators on an Izod

Lacoste, y'all tomato head niggas are

Imposters, long drawn out process

Triple OG's got a worn out conscience

Reminiscing to when we was all out monsters, on

Our Sierra Leone reigning tyranny

I strike fear in their hearts, rappers stear clear of me

Black Sankofa, Ayatollah, Range Rover, games over

Bill folder, give niggas that Ebola virus

Huh? You got me chopped like Miley Cyrus?

Naw, I'm on your block with Somali pirates"

"Living the life of limos and lights

Airplanes and trains, short days and long nights

Keyboards and mics, bass chords and drum kicks

And my mental thick they hit my head like brick

As I embark on a mission welcoming to the dark

When I first spark the arts, when the listening start

Open your head wide, and let the Thought inside

My style fortified by all of Philadelphi

My delph more stealth than all the wicked wealthy

Mentality undetectable by the naked eye

Then I get paid when the record is played

To put it short "I want it made" like Ed, nuff said

Then after that, I'm putting on my cousin Hamed

We let the ladies blend with the dark-skinned thoroughbred

And discover, my level is that of no other

And Roots crew reign official and true while I'm continuing to"

In other words, the nigga got BARS. Most underrated rapper in the history of hip hop music.

I mean 3000 produced on like the biggest selling rap album of all time...that counts people obviously like and seem to prefer his "artistry". At least up to this point. Also produced on Aquemini and all their other albums after the first. Just counting music a case can be made that he is the greater artist easily considering output, results, whatever tangible metric Other than just "opinion". But not only that dude draws he said he drew the picture on the Southern...disc. And acts. innovated outside of just "spittin bars" A case can easily be made that this is not close to a comparison as far as "artists". All tangible metrics have 3000 blowing this out of the water but its the ic I know how it is on here a lotta times people like to go for the unlikely choice regardless.

And you say New York City

My cheapest t-shirts cost me $450

Listen for me to call it ..., it's go Philly

It's shorties in the front row flashing both titties

The texture of my voice is coarse, it's so gritty

That I could make the people revolt with no Diddy

I used to kick it with Hex Murda, Frank Nitty

In the D where he would bring J. Dilla and Dank with him

Riq Gees for mayor, a franchise player

Yeah, you might say I'm in the book of Isaiah

The highway is what his mind weigh

Yeah I'ma put a polka dot on your dome, and Kwamé yah

This is the big payoff, soliloquy of Chaos

Another rapper gon get rocked like Amadeus

Defeat'll make a nigga get ghost like a seance

It's triple entendre, three stacks of, hey ya

I plan to keep a band like Fela

Until when my career's over like A.I

It's me and the Muhammads, Ali,

That never played the porch or asked for mother, may I

Listen, my calling card ball hard like armadillos

Rappers too thin to win, like cigarillos

Shaking their hair back and forth like Willow

But need to save the soft ass talking for the pillows

I had a issue with a hater, now it's kinda squashed

Like a slug below the soles of the St. Laurents

My response, a stepping razor like I'm Father Tosh

Exotic fabrics on my blazer like the Maharaja

Sick whips in my garage, roll with no entourage

But I roll with heat like I'm Dwayne Wade, Lebron and Bosh

I keep the paper stacked in layers like baklavas

Even though they give us ours free, like the Amistad

I know I'm sort of pompous, no type of moral compass

Go right the fuck up in your mouth like I'm the orthodontist

Some rappers just starting out, but me, I'm more accomplished

The imperial Black Thought from the foreign object

I created a movement not just related to music

They keep asking me what's my take on the state of the union

All these haters is human, but I'm a different breed

They be crazy cartoonish, but I'm in a different league

Killer colloquium, kush rolled with opium

Making my associates act so inappropriate

I got weapons manufactured in the Soviet

Now I'm like Future on that "I just won a trophy" shit

Ayo the, the, the boss is back

Take that, and while you're at it, make my coffee black

I tried to tell you mothafuckas on Respond/React

I'm the nastiest to do it, as a matter of fact

Yo who your top 5? Jay, Biggie, Pac, Nas

I ain't trying to hear another name if it's not mine

Any side talking, I'ma consider it shots fired

At the outlier, and start it up like a hotwire

Another reason why to me even though Dre a monster on the Mic black thought top 5 to me

BT >>>>>>>

How? The roots are almost bassicly him rhymimg overhis bands beats with few other vocals from here and there

I just personally like BT better..he's top 10-15 on my list and I really think 3 Stacks has wasted his talent lately wit' weirdness/other interests...

I like 3 stacks but his lack of material hurts him. "Thought @ Work" >>> "Royal Flush," "How I Got Over" >>> "Prototype," "The Fire" >>>>>>>> "A Life In The Day Of Benjamin Andre."

IT BAFFLES ME WHEN YALL SAY 3000 LACKS MATERIAL...

THIS NIGGA HAS SEVERAL FEATURES WHERE HE ALWAYS KILLS NGAS ON THEIR OWN TRACKS

THIS IS IS PART OF THE GOAT DUO WITH 7 ALBUMS OUT

1 LEGIT SOLO ALBUM DOES STOP HIS GREATNESS
