Thutmose lll was not the first born to his mother nor the King Thutmose 2, he was groomed to be a preist and then something tragic happened (The Passover Deaths of All Egypts first borns). So in his desperation for an heir to the thrown Thutmose was proclaimed heir by his father (his mother was not Queen Hepshetsuat but of a lesser wife) sometime after that his father Died. Still a boy his mother ruled and as Co- Regent till he was abt 22 and then he went on to become one of the Greatest Pharoahs ever while the Isrealites were roaming the desert for 40yrs.
