You starting to spam the board now!!!

Why not just create one thread taking suggestions for life advice for all the topics you want?

That way all your shit would be consolidated into one convenient place for you to refer back to when you need the answers.

Graduated 2 years ago and I have a manufacturing job a fresh high school graduate could cop making around 20 an hour. I could more than double that if I moved up north but I didn't want to leave family, friends, and a familiar area and wanted to wait on a job in the south (within a specific company too.... Lol, they downsizing now). It's funny you make this thread because last night at work, I said to myself "I'm out", lol. Prolly will end up in Illinois and ion kno anybody up there but I'm at the "fuck it" point now.

One thing I can tell you is, it's stressful as fuck waiting on something that ain't gonna or more than likely won't happen. If it ain't no jobs poppin in your area, be open minded and think about moving away to move forward. Look at opportunities everywhere, not just in your area, and ask yourself are you willing to go that far too get what you want.

I thought jobs just weren't happening in my field when it turns out, they are. Just not in my area and since I didnt wanna leave, I never checked other areas. Niggas out here getting paid when I'm out here just chillin because I'm "comfortable here" -_- You'd be surprised what you find when you're willing to step out of your comfort zone and go get that shit.

I'm at the "fuck it" point right now too. This is why I once even looked for jobs in Texas. Journalism is supposedly supposed to be big in Atlanta as well so I need to start looking there too. I have never been there but I heard that there is a large AA population and there is a lot to do there.

Never finished college. Got a 6 figure job. Sometimes its more about your personality and if your a go getter than anything else.

None of that shit applies to me cause I never once said any of that.

My suggestion was for her to consolidate all these life advice threads into 1 thread not for her to leave or never make another thread again.

I see you have a vested interest in her threads so have a ball and enjoy'em!!

IC niggas (not necessarily u) stay on some "lock this shit" "stop making threads" "ban him/her" shit.... its counterproductive

I get that and agree but does the same person need to create multiple life advice threads when 1 thread can be made to cover multiple topics for the life advice she feels she needs?

You ain't never lied, I know several people that make more than me/ are well off in life that are less educated than me. It's really just a matter of luck sometimes.

Do you blog? You should jumpstart your own career........ do some journalism shit and get your name buzzing ....... a few quality pieces floating around the 'net will get noticed ...... link them to your linkedin & fb ....... and keep searching big, small & internet based ......... hell do some reviews on yelp ........ IDK

Was blessed to have a job waiting for me as soon as I graduated. Bigger blessing was that I found it back home in Mississippi where I could live with my parents for a little bit, and stack up some bread. I'm now living in ATL after finding another job in my field.

Question for you OP...did you complete any internships or co-ops? Also, how was your GPA? I don't want a number, just was high, average, or low. I don't know much about your field, but I do know for mine, those without experience (atleast an internship or 2) had tough times landing jobs. Those with average or low gpas found jobs as long as you had experience. If you had no experience, and an average or low gpa you were kinda screwed.

It took my sister two years to get a job in her major with a masters. Actually, about a month ago. She'll be leaving our state and heading to Arizona.

I never graduated for my craft from technical college. Got hired before I could finish and was fortunate to learn on the job. But the game has changed in the last 11 years, I doubt I could do that and get work now. I pretty much went where ever the money was. Truck driving had me all over the country, got employed like a week after graduating for that.

You are very blessed indeed. I had a high GPA. I got some experience writing for the school newspaper. I have an internship now where I write for a blog site. Experience does help.
