I was going to ask, aren't Dominicans known for being prejudice against darker skinned people and other self-hate issues?

Dominicans are THE worst, especially the old heads. The lighter the better in many parts of the country, of course not all people will share that same opinion. You have so many denying African roots and cursing anyone who calls them "morena" and I remember my neighbor specifically. Her given name was actually Morena and she would get upset when you related it to her beautiful dark brown complexion. She would say to me "No, I'm India!" which usually refers to the more red/brown complected Tainos.

You know how many older generation Dominicans dislike Black folks? Smh.
