Lefty is pretty obvious...
My original name, DopeGameCocaine was inspired by the hook on Scarface's first solo song on his first solo album, Mr Scarface is back. One of the more vivid memories of my childhood musically. I remember my older cousin was playing it at my grandmas house, and I was in my room with the door closed. I was only 8 or 9, but I opened the door and started bobbing my head, because initially the nursery rhyme caught my attention.
I started stealing my uncles Rap-a-lot tapes and puttin balled up tissue in the tops of tapes I had at the crib to dub over some of the bullshit albums my big sister used to buy and some of my grandma's gospel tapes. Rap-A-lot became my gospel when I was young lol. My uncles and cousins looked at face like a God, so I followed suit. I met him at one of his shows on my birthday in my 20s. I remember telling him I was raised off his music, and it helped teach me how to be thorough. He's been back here like 4 times since, but I never need to go to one of his shows again. I don't ever want that memory to fade.
More importantly, those early memories with that tape, and the chronic were my introduction to hip hop. Which ultimately led to me posting here.
Side note. DJ Quik deserves more love now that I think about my youth. That nigga is a dope producer. We played Safe n sound for like a whole year.
