i and have a brother and sister who are 9 and 7 years older than me so anything circa 94-96. i distinctively remember my brother driving my mom and dukes crazy bumping ready to die, that tribe called quest album with all the faces on the cover? the infamous, hell on earth and the soundtrack to "dont be a menace to south central while drinking juice in the hood" regularly. in terms of hiphop thats back in the day to me. first cd i ever bought was busta rhymes "when disaster strikes" put your hands where my eyes can see had that summer on smash. pretty sure i was 12 maybe 13.
