its actually over 200000 at the moment..

u could say it flopped, but lets keep in mind, he had a hit or two, but no HUGE hit, he couldnt promote it in the jail cell, & it still his most successful album commercially & critically...

believe it or not its one of the better albums of 09...

The Gucci album IS one of the better albums of 09, I was suprised myself, you must not have listened to it. Just because he's not a lyricist doesnt mean he cant make a solid album with replay value.

Dude couldn't properly promote the album. IMO one of the better albums of the year with good production behind it. Plus with the beef between him and Jeezy squashed I'll be looking for an official collabo once he gets out.

^^^ I don't think you have to be ignorant but the concepts on that album were no different from anything else put out by a borderline mainstream artist. Plus I can't believe most artist fans totally relate to their work with so much trash already out there w/ everyone either being a king pin, killa, or playa pimp. IMO its hard to relate to any artist since they're now all characters.

maybe u have to b ignorant to b able to relate to gucci's music.... cause i just can't respect that man as an artist, dude is trash IMO

No, you just have to be able to loosen up and enjoy music for what it is. I shared your opinion before I moved to ATL, he isnt a lyricist, he makes bangers, clubbin, ridin, and smokin music, so if you dont enjoy goin to the club partying and gettin fucked up every now and then your not gonna be entertained.

and that's my point, dude is trash, pretending to be this kingpin drug dealer, yet ppl still respect him.. idk how this is possible... which is y i say u have to b ignorant in order to believe him

So would your opinion change if you found out that he truly served that hard off of Moreland and now has young kids sellin for him?

yea it would change, for the worst, i would lose even more respect for him, if that's even possible... and i kno good and well that he is not invloved in any dealin of drugs in any way, b/c if he was, then he wouldn't be on records talkin about it... real niggas move in silence, simple and plain...

LMAO!! BMF could have been considered real niggas too but that didn't stop them from posting up billboards throughout Atlanta professing their world domination. I'm not going to say street cred is a reason to listen to him because street credit is bs. His album was good and worth a listen. I don't condone ignorance but for what it's worth dude's album is above average compared to his past work and even shows some maturity and seriousness in his first major effort.

It sold 89k 1st week , which was very disappointing numbers regarding Gucci was the hottest artist of 2009, and there is no excuses here.

the album didn't even leak (It appeared on The net 1 day before the official release)

Same goes for young money, they have only managed to sell 143k 1st week(The album didn't leak either) with 2 Top 10 hits

and with 3 hottest artist at the time(Wayne,Drake,Nikki).

He sold 90k first week and hes now @ 203,900, he didnt do any public appearences or a promo tour because hes in jail , I think he gets out in MAY but what i do want to say is gucci really shocked the hell outta me with this album , this is his first "mainstream album" , the intro "classical" , (worst enemy) (HE WENT IN). album is full of BANGERS AND XXL magazine gave the album a XL, some may say the album flopped but if thats the case hiphop industry must be flopping as a whole because when his album dropped along with BG,timberland, snoop dogg, the clispe, gucci (whose in jail) had the #1 rap album in the country.
