It's ok. Had some of his best joints (Intro, Squeeze 1st, Soon You'll Understand) and some of his worst (Parking Lot Pimpin, Give It To Me, Get Ya Mind Right). Everything else in between was dope. Ye, Bink, Just and Free's verse in 1900 Hustler saved that album.

I actually bumped all them joints in high school. Listening to them now, they sound lame. Jay's biting was at an all time on them tracks... the most memorable lines come from other people.

I thought it was dope. I was just listening to it the other day....Streets Is Talking, Can't Be Life, You, Me, Him & Her, 1-900-Hustler, Intro, Squeeze 1st & Where Have You Been are bangers to me

Classic, hell naw. Without that album we wouldn't have a Blueprint though and it's where Ye, Just and Bink got their foot in the door (not ghost producing wise).

2 of my favorite beats of all time are on that album though, DYNASTY and YOU,ME,HIM, and HER.

Beans went the fuck off on that album though. It's a 4/5 album and Squeeze First is one of Jay-z most underrated verses

I wish Jay would get back to this kinda shit. He had some nice verses on streets is talking and squeeze first. That change the game beat is still beasting to this day. Who produced that shit?(I like the remix wit Daz and Kurupt too). It's perfect for a freestyle battle when I've heard Dj's throw it on. Beans was goin hard that whole album. I liked the edge Jay rapped with when he was around him and Bleek. He be on some watered down shit now. Nigga need to retire real bad

Solid album,but no classic.Volume 3 is the underrated classic though.Album only gets hate because Jay was huge after Vol 2 and you know how people hate those who are successful.

Rick Rock, dude is big on the west, did joints with Pac and E40. He also made Squeeze 1st. Unfortunately he also made Get Ya Mind Right and Parkin Lot Pimpin, the worst songs on the album. Not his fault, Jay just came off corny on them.

Yup. Those, Snoopy Track and NYMP were my shits. But Vol 3 is nowhere near a classic. That was him trying to be a pop star and be everywhere at once. His best albums are the most focused production and subject wise (RD, BP, BA, AG)
