I didn't care about any of the side stories (they all fizzled mid-way through the season), and only barely cared about the core Sookie/Bill/Eric/Russel storyline. But, lets just say I did for a second...
When Russell ripped a man's spine out on national TV, we all expected a war. A war with vamps and human and wolves. Instead, the wolves never came back, some back-alley walls got graffitied with "Kill All Vampires" and Nan Flanagan just kept on making her nightly news political debate appearances. Things just never clicked back into place after Russell became an "on the lam" grieving mess. he promised to eat all our children! This was a King with designs to wipe out the human race!
I liked watching Talbot go down the garbage disposal, but I was a little confused by Sookie's psycho laugh?
WTF @ that Godric shit? I liked him when he was sort of "Jesus-lite," and not a full-on embodiment of love and forgiveness. Godric worked because he'd out-lived this world and out-lived temperamental feelings of anger. In fact, he'd out-lived caring about much of anything. He was wise, not warm and cuddly.
Jason, as a character, is completely lost now.

Why didn't Russell or Eric burst into flames like Godric?
When Eric called in talking about I'm going to need your help and your truck I though he was actually going to call in somebody important... and it just turned out to be Alcide's useless ass. booo.
I hope Crystal ass turns up dead not only did she drag Jason into her bullshit but then she put him in charge of her bullshit while being responsible for his truck getting stolen. WTF how many times does this chick have to shit on you? And whats the point of even being a werepanther if its only shown once on the show and not doing shit?
Russell was actually bound in silver and then cemented and in bad shape to add. Why did bill think he was just going to slap some handcuffs on eric and throw him in and he was going to stay? He channeling Tara?
Overall this finale was anti climatic and wack and it does not make me look forward to season 4.

my theory that Godric had basically prepared himself to burn initially with the FOTS and then atop the hotel. He basically fasted, possibly to limit the amount of self healing that he might have done and make the process quicker. Conversely, Russell had recently fed at the museum (dead guard) as well as on Sookie.
Russell swore to fight the true death. Assuming vamps store blood internally and that blood is used to heal, Russell would have gone through his own stores of blood trying to heal as he burned, basically buying time. He was out there for a good bit even after Eric was brought inside. It was enough time for Eric to be fed and heal.
Russell should have been ash by the time Sookie got out to him. I think that it's a matter of the ends justifying the means. If need be, it could be explained. Regardless I don't think it was a show/plot killer. Besides, him chained and conscious gave us that nifty little Talbot down the drain scene.

Yet Godric, a much older and stronger vamp, burst into flames at the slightest onset of dawn.
True Blood need to get they shit together. Their vampire hierarchy makes no sense.
