I Fucks wit treme mane, I actually made an inquiry thread regarding second lines after seein episode 1. Real shit tho I think it might just be me bein a David Simon stan, that nigga could make a weekly drama about antique collectors and I would watch every episode if it was as well written as The Wire

They arent killing people like the wire...so lowest common denominator niggas aint really going to vibe with it...

But its a show about its characters. And its dope to see the way the NO was after katrina. After a few eps, I am already starting to care about these characters.

Just saw the pilot episode. what i gather from it is that this will be more character driven as opposed to being more plot driven like the wire. which isnt a bad thing in no way shape or form. i can see how wire fans wouldnt like this though. due to its departure from city politics, drug kingpins, and street level runners. but i can already tell im going to like this. the music is what really drew me in. it was invigorating. and seeing how the focus is new orleans, i wouldnt expect anything less

Yes they have Katrina tours, and they were very prevalent in the months and even years after Katrina. Fuckin disgusting.

One of my fav shows out right now (not just because Im an N.O. nig), but David Simon has easily made the truest depiction of New Orleans life I've seen on tv. Every movie or show done in N.O. makes it look like people live in the French Quarters and just a bunch of fat sweaty cajuns sittin around eating gumbo. No.

The show is great, ...awesome music too if your into that sort of thing.

One of the 2 or 3 best shows on Television at this moment...

Very good writing, very good acting, very good atmosphere.

As someone who grew up thinking "News Radio" was one of the greatest sitcoms of all time, it's great to see Khandi Alexander getting some meaningful work with substance again.

And as already said, the music is great. Elvis Costello and Allen Toussaint together in that whole recording scenario was a very nice touch.

Khandi is a very underrated actress. Her work as Fran on the Corner was simply brilliant.

Tried to get into this the first 3-4 episodes but just couldn't. I think Steve Zahn fucked the shit up for me.
