The Wire, The Sheild and The Sopranos are MUST OWN'S in any self-respecting movie/t.v fans' collection.
The Wire is amazing, so grimey, so real, so hood and the best part about it.....so human.
Out here in Australia it was televised LATE at night, I'm talking like 11:30pm and shit so it's under the radar out here but I trusted my instincts after catching one or two ep's from the 3rd Season on t.v and went out and bought the first 3 Seasons and they were bout $50 each(now they go for $10) but worth every dollar.
I had to wait about 6 months to get my hands on the 4th Season but its just as dope and the 5th Season just got released out here in Aus maybe 2 months ago on dvd but I never got around too buying it, but coincidently my mate just gave me a burnt copy to borrow so I'll finally, after over 2 years of watching it and waiting almost a whole year for the very last season, I'll get to see the end and how it all pans out.
Season 1 and 3 are my fav's but Season 4 was dope too, Season 2 is totally different from Season 1 but its cool anyway. I'll let ya know how Season 5 (the last one) measures up.

tthey all tied in to let you see how real life was all away around the board. It showed how the streets,politics,schools,the paper,everything was tied together and how shit just seems to go in a cycle. The realest show ever i have a few of the Soprano series my brother tried to put me on too but havent watched them yet just gotta get in the mood one day i guess.
