Not sure if anyone pointed this out but King Tee's style was completely taken by Biggie so I don't think people should be down playing pac as "easy to mimic" when Biggie didn't even create his own style.

Cause most people view pac as the greatest, so of course people are going to try to be like him. On the flip side i hear more rappers biting biggie lines

naw Listen to party and bullshit and you can see it was fitting to the era it was recorded. Pac evolved with each hiphop period and styles from late 89-early 91 are vastly different then styles in 94 so read into it as you like but the truth is in the time and music...

And to answer your thread question they say that because you never want to compare someone by saying they will be the next 12th placeholder you compare them by saying they are the new best simple as that...

Ofcourse he was speaking ill of the dead...there is no way in hell that BIG didnt write the second verse after Pac passed..

You're bleeding lovely, with you, spirit above me

or beneath me, your whole life you live sneaky

Now you rest eternally, sleepy, you burn when you creep me

Rest where the worms-n-the weak be

My nine flies, baptize, rap guys

With the holy ghost

I put holes in most, you hold your toast shakey

Slip-n-trying to break me

Look what you made me do, brains blue

My team in the Marine blew, six-coupe

Skiid it out, weeded out, clean it out

The block for distance is, given long kisses bitch

The song was orginally recorded in the summer of 1996 when Pac was still alive...but BIG added that second verse after Pac got clapped....

Big thought he was on some godfather shit touring all through Los Angeles, kickin it at the radio stations, attending award shows and parties just months after Pac got smoked like nothin happend.

Now think about it why would anyone in his right mind do that? The answer is pretty simple...just imagine how powerful BIG would have looked if he actually made it home from LA dropped Long Kiss and his double album and have folks THINK he had somethin 2 do with Pac gettin killed...shit dude would have been looked at as the King of Rap..

but them LA Niggaz aint fuckin around and they caught Big slippin so the only way he could ever leave LA was in a body bag

RIP

Bump

its gone awfully quiet in here after that powerful post

as far as flow, delivery and hardcore shit BIG did swag jack King Tee...

lucky for him Pac told BIG to rap for the women , which BIG admits, and thats the only thing that separated King Tee and Biggyyy

Cause Pac had a whole career, alot of albums and a movie career ..Biggie, well he had two albums and errr ..... but to be honest Biggie was riding high till the end.

and the thing about BIGGY he didnt want to rap for the chicks, because he was always about hardcore horrorcore type rap, puff forced him into making soft water down music for the clubs....

big never really was himself, he had a few songs, but there are certain songs which he didnt want to make

puff was holding big back from being himself

This is true. Puff really guided Biggie to stardom. If Puff hadn't remixes One More Chance and Big Poppa, Biggie wouldn't have blown up like he did. He did the same for Method Man's All I Need. He tried that same formula with the Lox but it didn't work.

true but imagine what direction wud have take without puff?

i feel he wud have been way more harder and darker

u gotta remember big was a fat ugly nigga, all this talk of women to him was bullshit,

big wud have eventually got rid of puff, theres only so much u'll let a nigga talk over every record u make
