I'm gonna have to catch that Birdman and see what the hypes about. It looked interesting and Micheal Keaton is cool, but damn at the nominations.

-The Lego Movie stands out as a huge snub.

-JK Simmons is a lock for Best Supporting Actor.

-Boyhood is a lock for Best Picture.

I'm always more interested in the Cinematography nominations.. the style in which a film is shot

Yeah, I just posted the main ones, but here you go:

Best Cinematography:

Birdman

The Grand Budapest Hotel

Ida

Mr. Turner

Unbroken

I need to step my game up, Whiplash and Gone Girl are the only ones I've seen that got any major nominations. But I did see Nightcrawler and The Drop both of which I expected to get nominated for something major, both are great films though.

J.K. Simmons was next level in Whiplash....that movie as a whole was trill from beginning to end.

Yes, loved that movie. It was basically jazz music meets Full Metal Jacket. JK Simmons as Terence Fletcher was etherous, some of my favorite lines I remember:

"You give a retard a calculator and he'll try to turn on the TV with it"

"That is an instrument, not your boyfriend's dick you fucking faggot"

"Look me in the eyes when you're talking to me, don't look down, there's not a fucking Big Mac down there"

"Guess you're not ready" (Shrugs shoulders) People that have seen it will get this.

This year just seems like a snoozefest. I'm mildly interested in seeing if Rosamund Pike wins. I'd predicted last year that she'd get that nomination but not win. Other than that, the lineup seems kind of lackluster.

She won't, gun to my head I bet either Julianne Moore or Reese Witherspoon gets it with how much critical praise each of their performances have been getting. Haven't seen Still Alice or Wild but that's all everyone's been talking about.

All cold but the part in the last half of the movie at the last performance where he tricks miles teller with the music and says to him "I know it was you you little motherfucker". The whole theatre was like oh shit
