Wat? The giants WERE a wild card team in the playoffs they beat the falcons in a WILD CARD GAME the giants were 9-7 not 10-6 just bcuz they won the division dont mean they get a bye week and if the giants wouldve lost week 16 how couldnt the eagles have a chance at the wild card especially when they had the divisional record among the 4 teams

Dumb fuck there are only 2 Wild Card Teams in each conference..Giants Broncos Saints and Texans are called division champs or division winners. ATL, Detroit, Pittsburgh and Cinncinatti are the wild card teams....LOL @ you not knowing the difference between Division Winner and Wildcard playoff spot..

I had to ether these two quotes because you are ETHERING YOURSELF.

Answer this: If the Giants were a wild card team, than who was the NFC East Champion???

The.... GIANTS.

So how can you be a division champion (Seeded 1-4) AND a wild card team (Seeded 5-6) at the SAME TIME?

You really believe the NFL has more than 2 wild card teams in each conference???

I normally dont reference Wikipedia, but anything more reputable might make your miniature brain explode. Go learn you somethin:http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wild_card_(sports)#National_Football_League

You, my friend, are now irrelevant in all football talk ever and your man card is under evaluation.

Good day.

Good day.

uh no the reason why you have wild card games is for the lower record teams in the playoffs....which are the wild card teams.....division champions are just the leader of the division period not the conference you got it twisted.....they're ranked by their records not because they won the division....green bay, new england, baltimore, and baltimore won their division and they're the 1-4 seeds.....so how the fuck can the giants be the 1-4 seed when they already have 4 teams ranked ahead of the giants? that's why they get a bye week....wild card teams play in the first round of the playoffs which the giants did what the fuck do you niggas dont get about that? that's like saying you cant have two teams from the same division in the playoffs.....smh@ you getting any info from wiki

.so how the fuck can the giants be the 1-4 seed when they already have 4 teams ranked ahead of the giants?

The Giants played who in the the first round? Falcons.

Falcons were ranked what? 5th.

What team plays the 5th seed? The 4th seed.

The Giants are a seed ranked 1-4, because EVERY TEAM THAT WINS THEIR DIVISION IS RANKED 1-4 FOOL.

Then after the division winners, the next two teams with best records get #5-6. Wild cards.

Thats why the year the seahawks (a 7-9 playoff team) got a HOME game against the Saints (a 11-5 team)....because Seattle had the higher seed. Seahawks had the worst record in the playoffs, but still got the 4 seed due to winning their division.

Where is the dumb things said in cheap seats thread you would be racking up the posts...

Smh at you being a grown man (I assume) and not knowing how wild cards work.

Last year? Pittsburgh was ranked 5. Player 4 seed Denver in first game.

ATL was ranked 5th. Played the 4th seed giants.

You just keep digging yourself deeper and deeper... try again kid.

LMAOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

Thats conference standings based strictly off of regular season records. Notice how Broncos have a Z next to their name, and the Titans have nothing. Meaning the Broncos are in the playo-....

.......you know what never mind.

Must... not... feed... trolls....

and they have who's in the playoffs....so why are you talking about the regular season????....the reason why the broncos made it in and the titans didnt is because the broncos won their division and the bengals (who had the same 9-7 record like the titans) had a better non conference record just like the seahawks won their division with 7-9 record to get into the playoff but the giants and tampa bay had better records that year.....aw fuck it you still wont get it

Yea Va, I aint trying to be an asshole or nothing. I see what you're saying but the Giants and Saints were in a Wild Card game but ATL and the Lions were the only wild card teams. I know it really doesn't make sense but that's just how it is. Notice on the bottom of the link you posted were it says Atl and the Lions clinched a wild card spot with a "Y" next to their names. The Giants and the Saints have a "*" symbol next to it saying they clinched a division title.

Yeah I know and but that only means they have homefield adavantage in the wild card just because they won the division......tell me when has the nfl ever had a division winning team who played in a wild card game and NOT played at home? that would make no sense at all.....every wild card game has a division winner in it but they're not considered a wild card team because they won their division? lol c'mon man I aint saying it's you but other niggas dont get it.....yeah you won the division but does that make you any better than your opponent? I think not.....like dude said the division champs are seeded 1-4 and wild cards are seeded 5-6......the top 4 teams for the playoffs were #1 green bay, #2 new england, #3 San Fran, # 4 Baltimore out the league....conference wise green bay, san fran and giants who won their division, atl was ranked higher because they had a better record with 10-6.....giants and saints didnt have a * beside their name they have a z which represents they won the division period, the asterisk means you won the division with the one the best records with homefield advantage throughout the whole playoff

Right, I dont get it, but you are saying Denver is a SEVEN SEED in a SIX TEAM PLAYOFF.

It's cool, you just dont understand. The standings you posted up dont matter as much as you think they do.

Follow along, you should understand, just go step by step:

1) Seeds 1-4 will ALWAYS be the 4 division winners. No matter their record, conference standing etc... No matter what. It's always this way. #1 seed has best record overall down to #4.

2) Seeds 5-6, also called WILD CARDS, are #5-6 based off regular season records. So the 5 seed will either have the better regular season record than #6, or some other form of tiebreaker.

3) First week, #6 goes to #3, #5 goes to #4.

4) It's called a "Wild Card Game" but that doesn't mean both teams are WILD Cards. ONLY seeds 5 and 6 are wild cards, seeds 1-4 are called division winners.

So when you say:

vageneral08;4544485 said:
they're ranked by their records not because they won the division

you're wrong. They are ranked by who wins divison FIRST, THEN by records.

When you say:

vageneral08;4544485 said:

You are half right. It was a "wild card game" but the giants were not a wild card team. They were a division winner. That's the title.

When you say:

vageneral08;4544485 said:

You are completely wrong. Cuz like I said, they are SEEDED 5th in their respective conferences. If they were seeded the way you say they were, they would've both had home games.

Log off bro. Go to timeout.

During the regular season, the seeds reflect how the playoffs would stand if the season ended up to that point. The NFL playoffs are not based on a pure bracket system. In the divisional playoffs, the No. 1 seed is assured of playing the lowest-seeded Wild Card survivor. There are no restrictions on intra-division games and the higher seed of any matchup will have home-field advantage.

Now what were you saying?????? oh and another thing? how do they decide who wins their division by their record right? oh ok...........so obiviously they're chosen period by their record overall

Either this nigga is dumb as fuck or he is trolling me something serious.

You do know the divisional round is the SECOND ROUND not the first right? Your entire first paragraph didnt dispute what I just wrote.

Lets make it easy: Explain to me how, the Giants are a 4th seed and a wild card team at the same time. (Referring to last year)

Wild Card survivor as in.. the wild card GAME survivor. The 3/4 seeds are NOT wild cards. ONLY THE 5 AND 6 SEEDS ARE WILD CARD TEAMS.

That's where you are confused I believe.
