Yea Popovich is a great coach, but its amazing how much people r hyping his impact.
They bout to play one of the greateat damn players to ever play the game. 'Pop' will not be lacing them up people.
Actually his impact will be evident because as you can see in the playoffs its all about match ups....ever wonder who analyzes match ups and develops game plans/strategy? How about scouting reports?
When it comes late game adjustments who makes those decisions is it the "greatest damn player in the game"?
How about drawing up a play with several seconds left in the quarter or a game winner?
Put that 2k controller down for a second and use some logic nigga.

Pop had them same 4 rings when they lost in the first round 2 out of the last 4 years.
Point is, the players will decide this series 85% of the way. That's how it always is and will always be.
If Lebron is Lebron, and Miami's supporting cast hits shots like they did in last year's Finals, Pop could have Phil Jackson and Red Aurebach as his assistants- It will not matter. It is a PLAYERS league.
But its amazing how ya'll arent even mentioning that Tony parker will need to dominate by causing havoc in the paint off the dribble, or how Duncan will need to dominate ala Hibbert...or how Ginobli will need to outplay Wade.
No...yall nggas are makin this to be the Heat vs Gregg Popovich. Aint no scheming for 6'8 270. Not this new version Lol Ask Doc Rivers, ask Tom Thibedeau. If the Spurs win, it will NOT be b/c of Popovich's coaching. It will come down to which players play best. Period.
ok since u wanna put it on players.
the heat struggled with 1 slightly skilled 7'0 player in hibbert, the spurs have splitter and duncan. the heat had close games with a turnover prone team with very limited outside shooting and no real dribble penetration. the spurs excel in that category.
birdman is flatfooted on a pick and roll, splitter and duncan run it well. if they run bosh on pick and roll defense, splitter and duncan can post up.
the heat double teamed hibbert and were effective because the outside shooting was shakey and hes not that good at passing out the post. the spurs have outside shooters and pass very well out the post.the heat need to play like they did in game 7 for all the games to stand a chance.
remember how dallas cooked this same big 3 in the finals and barrea killed em? picture that a lil worse with tony parker
1)Hibbert is 7'2, 280...Chrs Bosh is 6'11 235, Birdman is 6'11 230. Perhaps his SIZE was what they struglded with rather than his actual skill???? Maybe??
2) Duncan is 250. There's a HUGE difference between a 60lb, 3 inch weight diff. and a 20 lb weight difference. Duncan will not dominate like Hibbert. The Heat will not double him, just like GS didnt
3)Not only did you just put Splitter in the same sentence with Duncan and Hibbert, you mentioned him more than once.
Splitter will barely play this series. *See Kendrick Perkins in 2012 Finals*. Any time Miami plays a team with a 4 or 5 man that isnt a real threat, they put Bron at the 4 and its a wrap. The great 'Pop' will blink first and take him out the rotation.
Dont worry, when the series is goin I WILL be sure to re-quote all this work ya'll gittin.
couple things wrong with your argument.
bron at the 4 works if the spurs would leave splitter on him. expect that to be leonard or green. there is no rule that says they have to guard who is guarding them.
not double teaming duncan is cool, but seriously you got birdman or bosh holding him 1 on 1?
spurs will take that match up.
yeah i said splitter. its easy to sleep on him, his move set is limited. but he knows how to pass and run a pick and roll and hes decent on the post with his mini hook shot.
please address the tony parker, jj barea comparison as well as the rebounding.
i'f i'm wrong feel free to shit on my post and quote it just the same
What NBA have you been watching? 'Bron works at the 4 only if'???...Son Bron works at the 4 to the tune of 47 out of 50 wins or whatever it is Lmao smh
Yes UD starts, but when Miami goes small, the onus is on the other team to adjust or die.
Adjusting = let your big guy guard Battier (teams have done this since all battier does is shoot), or you take the guy out of the rotation. Simple. UNLESS you have size at both the 4 and 5 that can hurt Miami OFFENSIVELY. Indy did, most teams dont.
And if you think out-rebounding Miami will discourage them, their the last ranked rebounding team and STILL wins these games. SA is just as bad rebounding-wise as Miami. So please do tell, where is SA's advantage?
2011's loss was due to Bron mentally bein somewhere else, not Barea. Parker would need to avg at least 25 ppg to win this series. Totally doable, but-back to my original point-whether he does or doesnt wont have shyt to do with coaching. Its all on him. He's got as much pressure on his back this series as Lebron.
What else?
