For the second time in as many seasons, Dwyane Wade's preseason has been undone by his own legs, and this time it's his knee. Four to six weeks was the projected recovery time. Training camp began Saturday, marking 11 1/2 weeks of Wade's rehabilitation from arthroscopic surgery on his left knee.

He will miss preseason games, perhaps all of them. ... The Heat will not admit it publicly, but there are concerns among those in the organization about the second half of Wade's Hall of Fame career.

Reckless abandon on the court made him famous and made him rich and made him loved in his adopted city of Miami, but now it's making him and the Heat refocus their expectations. Wade is only 30 years old, but it's an old 30.

sad, only 30 years old.

-Dwyane Wade doesn’t really want KG calling Allen anyway

From Brian Windhorst at ESPN’s Heat Index.

“(Garnett) doesn’t need to be talking to our team anyway, so it’s all good,” Dwyane Wade said. “(Allen) doesn’t look too bad in a Heat uniform. At first it was weird but now I’m getting used to it.”

-LeBron going to spend more time in post, play some point forward

- Ray Allen said ankle issue likely will be ongoing throughout the season, something he will have to manage.

He said he never wanted to let on publicly how serious it was last season in Boston.

- Pierce on Rondo: “He’s knocking down his shot. He’s TAKING his shot. That’s what we’re going to expect from him. He’s our leader.”

- Lamar Odom, unprompted, told me he’d like to apologize to Mark Cuban and Mavs fans for not being himself. Felt it was beyond his power. Asked about Odom’s apology Friday evening, Cuban declined comment

- Tyreke Evans swears he’s got a jump shot now

- Calderon says Raptors told him he may get traded

Chris Bosh has tried and failed to bulk up the last few offseasons and now he's resigned to the fact that his body won't allow him to get big.

"It's been like that for three years," Bosh told The Miami Herald. "After about three years I said forget it and just be myself. I'm never going to be big and just bulky like that. I'm strong but it's a wiry strong and it's two totally different things."

Bosh will start at center for the Heat and his plan is to use his speed and quickness against the opponents.

"They need me to be fast against other [centers]," Bosh said. "That's my advantage. We want to make teams match up to us and that's how it's going to be here."
