All great artists are crazy. But the internet will die out like all technology does eventually. At least the internet AS IS.

In 1776 could anybody fathom hearing other people's voices and listening to speeches from NY all the way in DC? No...

In 1925 could anybody imagine watching people on a box with "moving pictures?" and actually watching their president debate his challenger on live TV? NO...

and in 1945 nobody could imagine picking up a phone that was in your pocket and dailing somebody out the blue with a phone no bigger than your own hand...

Imagine what our children are going to have when we are like 50....so lets not laugh at Prince yet.

In a recent interview with UK’s Daily Mirror, Prince discusses why his newest album, 20Ten, will not be available for download and declares the Internet’s death.

“The internet’s completely over,” he explained. “I don’t see why I should give my new music to iTunes or anyone else. They won’t pay me an advance for it, and then they get angry when they can’t get it.

“The internet’s like MTV. At one time MTV was hip and suddenly it became outdated. Anyway, all these computers and digital gadgets are no good. They just fill your head with numbers, and that can’t be good for you.” [Daily Mirror]

No, Prince Androgynous Nelson, men dressing like Lisa Bonet from the ’80s is what’s over. I’m well aware that he’s always had a hate for the Net but now I’m afraid he’s losing his last grasp on reality (I already had a strong feeling about that given his sartorial choices). Don’t worry my favorite little purple loon, I wasn’t downloading your album anyways.

lmao that dude is soundin his age now

"damn all these technical gadgets and shit"

Prince: 'The Internet is over'

July 5, 2010, 4:20 PM EST

WENN

Music superstar Prince is adamant he will never sell his songs on the Internet, insisting Web-based outlets will soon disappear because they are no longer "hip."

The "Purple Rain" hitmaker has long battled to keep his music offline -- in 2007 he sued YouTube.com and eBay.com claiming they "are clearly able (to) filter porn and pedophile material but appear to choose not to filter out the unauthorized music and film content, which is core to their business success."

Prince has also moved to ban fansites using images and anything linked to his likeness, while a home video of a child dancing to one of his songs on YouTube was pulled down in 2007 after the star's Universal Music Publishing claimed the recording infringed copyright.

The artist is still refusing to allow Web sites to sell his music and he's adamant fans will soon move on from the Internet.

He says, "The Internet's completely over. I don't see why I should give my new music to iTunes or anyone else. They won't pay me an advance for it and then they get angry when they can't get it.

"The Internet's like MTV. At one time MTV was hip and suddenly it became outdated. Anyway, all these computers and digital gadgets are no good. They just fill your head with numbers and that can't be good for you.

I think Prince made some good points.
