Hajime No Ippo. Would recommend the anime before the manga though. Cuts out a lot of filler and doesn't drag things out.

Black Lagoon. Volumes are self contained but it's been on a 3 year hiatus.

Just finished Deadman Wonderland(some crazy shit) and Gamaran.

Front Mission: Dog Life Dog Style is good. Definite recommend if you like mechs. May have had some necro/pedo stuff, wasn't too clear, just to throw out a heads up.
