Cool drop'em, I listen to a bunch of Jazz but I'm young so I'm just trying to delve into all of the music available, I need to do the same with soul music aswell since music nowadays is watered down and wack. I'll drop some more tunes when I see others drop some, the point of this thread is to share good music since jazz is so slept on and hard to come by. btw @iceberg white folks like that smooth jazz ish they don't know about Art Blakey, Jimmy Smith, Rashaan Roland Kirk, Donald Byrd, Idris Muhammad etc but my thing is who gives a fuck what white folks like, I like jazz because it's dope if you ain't into jazz then cool, but what white folks like is irrelevant when dealing with discussing our own classical art forms. Trust that white folks ain't thinking about niggas when they listening to Mozart, Chopin, and Beethoven.

but the jazz genre is so rich and vast that I've been having a lil hard time finding more tunes and newer jazz artist. So I'm creating this thread for those that want to share their favorite jazz tunes, any type of jazz is fine from Miles Davis and John Coltrane to Christian Scott and Robert Glasper feel free to share especially if you know any new or slept on jazz artists with good music. Alright I kick off the thread with just a few tunes since I have so many favorite jazz tunes. I'll be sharing music in here periodically from new stuff to old school tunes. Enjoy

Yes siiiiir. Will do...........

I remember going home from work and they would play jazz/r&b on the ride home on them Keith Sweat confessions joints lol. This one was one track that I finally found years ago and still jam it on my Ipod till this day called "AfterHours" by Ronny Jordan and been a fan ever since. Sadly, he just passed away this year. #Salute#

(Al B Sure remake)

Ronald Laurence Albert Simpson, known as Ronny Jordan was a British guitarist at the forefront of the acid jazz movement at the end of the twentieth century. Jordan described his music as "urban jazz," a blend of jazz, hip-hop, and R&B. One of the best album he dropped was "A Brighter Day" IMO.......

Pete Rock just recently did a tribute to Roy Ayers. Glad to see he still kicking.

Last and not least my boy Paul Hardcastle. I notice him mostly for being them upbeat jazz type of dudes, but he be goin in on them Jazzmasters mane.......

Hardcastle has also recorded several synth jazz albums, alternating releases under the artist names Kiss The Sky (with Jaki Graham), The Jazzmasters, and Paul Hardcastle.[1] Working regularly with vocalists such as Helen Rogers, Becki Biggins, and Margo LeDuc, Hardcastle has recruited several saxophonists including Gary Barnacle (on the first album), Snake Davis, Phil Todd, Tony Woods, and Rock Hendricks. All these albums have been played on smooth jazz radio in the United States, where some of the most played tracks include "Northern Lights", "Lost in Space", "Desire", "Shine", and "Serene". He won the Billboard Smooth Jazz Artist Of The Year award in 2008.

@mrrealone thanks for your participation. I know about Ronny Jordan I heard after hours before it's a pretty mellow tune. Here's a tune with karen briggs and stanley clarke Karen briggs is phenomenal with the violin. Also here is a tune from a group called the kora jazz trio they utilize the West African instrument called the Kora I'd like to learn how to play it eventually

um what else can I post I have so much music that I've listened too which is why I'm hitting a wall haha here's Fly with the wind from Mccoy Tyner just to top this post off I'll post some more stuff later

Here's a couple of tunes from one of my all time favorite pianists Hiromi Uehara

This one starts off a lil slow but when it picks up it is just musical excellence

This one is more upbeat and dynamic it's my personal favorite her piano solo is insane

I highly recommend listening to Hiromi and Chick Coreas duet album called deja vu

Also here is a much more mellow tune from George duke called It's on with Marcus Miller and Lee Ritenour

Thanks for the thread! I am looking forward to seeing more contribute.

For now I am dropping some Esperanza Spalding, "Her receipt of the 2011 GRAMMY® for Best New Artist was unprecedented—the first time a jazz musician had won the award— but Spalding continues to make the unprecedented the norm."http://www.esperanzaspalding.com/

Preciate dat "Black Gold" @MissK. I doubt if something like that ever catches mainstream. Poured ether all over a lot of foolishness on the radio and tv about misconceptions of blacks........

I liked this George Benson joint too. Nice jazz guitarist.....

George Benson is a ten-time Grammy Award-winning American musician and singer-songwriter. He began his professional career at twenty-one, as a jazz guitarist.

I mainly knew him for that track "Masquerade" but that "Breezin" song is real nice too.

My favorite genre... I know for a FACT that when I get older in age, this is what I'll be listening to more then anything. Jazz was the first thing I ever listened to. My parents didn't like rap and really didn't want me listening to it at such an early age. Honestly, I didn't really start listening to (and enjoying) Hip Hop until I was maybe 11 or 12. Without Jazz, their wouldn't be Hip Hop, period.
