7/10

Mech and giant monsters usually make for a good mix and a must see fun sci fi movie and this hits the mark but just barely.

I like the action sequences but I don't like the characters. The story would have been much better with better characters as the pilots.

It also doesn't make sense that the world is being attacked by giant monsters and the govt would cut the program. That's just dumb.

The Kaijus are great though, the story of them is awesome. The mechas looks awesome too.

This movie isn't so much bad as it could have been better. Its sad that it had the tools to be an awesome flick but it turns out to be just good. It could have been Starship Troopers level good.

6.5/10

All the elements were there to make an awesome movie but WB dropped the ball.

I know people have criticized this to death so I'll be brief.

THE GOOD:

- The Superman Debate.

It was a very well thought out discussion on whether Superman is a God or whether he's good or bad and what happens if you lose control of him. What if Supes decides not to play nice? What are we going to do about all this collateral damage he causes? The intellectual back and forth is a great reason for Bats to be wary of Supes and the fact that Supes destroyed his property and killed his friend in collateral damage is reason enough to fight him.

- The Batman debate

Does Bats go too far? The question Clark asks himself as he hears story after story about Batman whooping ass and branding people in Gotham. Supes may understand Bats anguish and his dislike for criminals but that shouldn't give him carte blanche to be almost as bad as the people he fights. This is reason enough for Supes to step in, he thinks Bats is on the edge of becoming a villain himself.

- Wonder Woman

Despite the fact I think she shouldn't have been in it at all I do like her appearances. She could have been the mediator to stop the fight between Supes and Bats or at least been put in a more meaningful role if she had to be in it but...

- The fight

Well done, good psychology and style but too short.

ON THE FENCE:

- BatFleck

Gun toting shooting people Batman isn't for me. This version of Batman is based on The Dark Knight comic and he specifically says "Guns are the weapons of cowards." in that comic.

- Wonder Woman

I think she was inconsequential. She really didn't serve a purpose in the grand scheme of things, was an afterthought put in for fan service.

- Doomsday

Kinda came out of nowhere but was needed to bring Bats and Supes together. A threat bigger than their beef forces them to put hard feelings aside.

THE BAD:

- Martha

Really B? Supes has X ray vision, superspeed and strength and some random goons can hide his mother from him? You really think Supes sucks at hide & seek bruh? WITH X RAY VISION? Stop it. He found Lois in the desert, im sure he can find Martha on his own.

- Lex Luthor

Discount Michael Sera just wasn't that good. He was better than I imagined but Kevin Spacey and Gene Hackman he is not. Lex deserves a Spacey level actor to play him.

- Lex plot

Forcing Supes to kill Bats because he stole his kryptonite is wack.

- Superman was framed

Unnecessary here. It expanded Lois character but we really didn't need more Lois.

- Wonder Woman steals a file only for it to be found anyway and no mention of who was looking for it or why.

- Doomsday fight

Just uninteresting. WW was there to add muscle but in the end ahe really did nothing to stop Doomsday at all. Bats didn't to anything either.

- Too damn long.

This movie tried too hard feel epic.

Its not as bad as it is not what it should have been. Its a classic case of WB setting high expectations only for it to miss the mark. If you came in with lower expectations then it probably isn't so bad.

Yo, y'all should check out Anthropoid. Good WW2 Thriller. All y'all crying about unoriginal Hollywood should go support this.

That a newly released movie? Or on netflix or something?

The Bourne Supremacy - Part 2 of the series and the first film Greengrass directed. Released in 2004 you notice how young Damon and Stiles were and the near ancient technological devices... entertaining nonetheless

Beverly Hills Cop 2 - Eddie Murphy at the height of his powers: 80s cool. Love the soundtrack

Pulp Fiction - Tarantino is the ultimate provocateur of Hollywood. Film is filled up with randomness and violence and somehow Bruce Willis ends up being kinda the main actor. That rape scene though will go down in infamy...

Batman Forever - They took Tim Burton off the franchise as director and it went downhill. Movie would have been decent if the guys who played the villains acted well. Tommy Lee Jones and Jim Carrey who play Two Face and The Riddler were terrible and I read Jones disliked Carrey during filming and dissed him as a non serious actor...

Val Kilmer was a decent Batman and played the role well. The introduction of Robin as his partner and sidekick was cool. Film just needed more believable villains than the cartoonish shit that was on offer

Man. If it were done seriously it had all the trappings of an actually good movie. Carrey can do serious roles but that particular time frame is where he was doing shit like Ace Ventura and The Mask, he hasn't established any credentials as a serious actor. And to be quite honest I think Carrey was better and more memorable as Riddler than Jones was as Two-Face.

Jones is a better actor no doubt though and could have brough some stiff realism to Dent if he was given realistic, more dramatic that role.

I hate Robin, hated Kilmer too. Its better than Batman & Robin though...I can say that. Its a low ass standard but its better than that trash

finally seen now you see me 2.

dope flick. almost as good as the 1st imo. I love lissy in masters of sex, but this wasn't the role for her.

Bronx Obama ...docu that..follows a Hispanic widowed father (who happens to look exactly like Obama ) and his teenage daughter as he struggles to make a living off of his likeness to obama

Just watched a documentary called food matters. About basically using organic natural plant based food to be healthy and ward off disease. Goes into how our commercially sold veggies in stores are made in nutrient lacking soil so we grow weak crops that need chemicals and pesticides to grow and give us nutrient lacking food. Lots more, but shit was pretty good. Highly recommend it. Got me wanting to make some diet changes.

^Those food docs are depressing af. After watching Food Inc. It really shows how much is outta our control. All this food produced for mass consumption. Its impossible to kno what is really in it. All those chemicals etc etc. Plus it shows how we are so dependent on big bizness food companies. No one grows anything themselves. We are all basically putty in their hands.

That's how I felt watching it haha. I've seen food Inc too that one was great.

With this one I was thinking on if I was to go all organic vegetable based diet (raw food was a big part of it too. Apparently when we cook anything we cook 50% of the nutrients out of it from the jump) I would have to go to farmers markets for all my food to avoid the shitty grocery veggies. And i live in ak, there's like 3 or 4 months of farmers markets here then it's too cold to grow lol.

I can't watch no food docs that go into the production or what happens to the animals and shit....cuz once you know you can't un-know and I ain't in the frame of mind mentally or financially to make the necessary changes lol

Shit I been buying all my meat from a local butcher we have here in town. How the meat got to his shop, I don't know, but the quality of the meat is way better than anything bought at a grocery store. Really ain't that much more expensive but I tend to eat the same stuff over and over and not really branch out to too many new recipes due to budget haha.
