The Dark Knight is the GOAT comic book film

TDK is the GOAT comic book movie because not only did it keep it grounded in reality, it actually felt like a Batman comic. Basically achieving something that was impossible. The direction was amazing, the cinematography was on point (Hong Kong scene) and the entire cast delivered a superb performance (cats keep forgetting Oldman NAILED Jim Gordon, Eckhart was great as Dent {not so much as Two Face}, Bale did the damn thing as well) and then the stand out performances by Ledger.

Its been a while since its been out so niggas is forgetting the impact it had on the whole industry.

It's a comic book movie. You kinda have to suspend belief a bit. Did you hate Santa too at 7?

Forreal.

The dude has red lips, green hair, a white face (not perma-white, granted), a sinister sense of humor, and was theatrical. I think the reason people keep bringing up "Batman" 89 and Superman is for sentimental reasons. NO ONE objective point of view can claim that Superman is as good as TDK. That sounds dogmatic, but its the truth. No matter how you watch it, you can't forget "Superman" is a comic book movie. At some points in TDK, I forgot Batman was a comic book character.

Na, breh. I love "Spider-Man 2", but it still feels like a children's movie. TDK feels like a great crime drama. It is more similar to films like "Heat" and "Mystic River" than movies like Batman 89' or "Superman".

even disregarding how alien ledger's joker is to any of the ways he was portrayed previously, his performance just did not deserve the monumental hype it got

Like I said, that's what you believe but realize it's not fact. BB to me is more of a Batman movie than TDK, which is why I like it more.

TDK is gotten so overrated it's almost impossible for people to be critical. It's a crime thriller that stars comic characters, that's it, nothing special.

It's very enjoyable to watch.

Christian Bale been my favourite actor for years.

If Dark Knight is number 1

I feel like any of the Blade movies should be at number 2 spot

The first 2 Superman movies were good but all the Superman movies after the second one were trash. How can anybody compare the old
Superman movies that came out in 78-87 to any of the comic book movies of today make no sense technology wasn't advanced as it is now.

Smh @ niggas even comparing the original Superman. TDK eclipses the genre. I would almost hesitate to label it a super hero film.

Nope:

Superman 78 and Batman 89 >>>>>>>>>> TDK

But It's Top 5 no doubt. "Superman 1 & 2" were on TV last weekend and guess what, some 30 years later they are still very good movies. Sure the effects have gotten better but the nostalgia effect is still very strong. 20 years from now "TDK" effects are going to be dated also we will see if it holds up like both Superman 78 and Batman 89 have after 20 and 30 years. I think it will but those 2 Superhero movies have time on their side, TDK is only 2 years old.

#1. Superman 1 (Say what you want but if this movie didn't happen where would Superhero Movies Be? Who's more iconic as a Superhero than Christopher Reeves?, Nobody. Brando and Gene Hackman in it also)
#2. Batman 89 (Jack killed it, Michael Keaton Killed It, it was just great)
#3. The Dark Knight (Amazing, the sets, the story, the acting, the cast, one of the greatest sequels of all time)
#4. BLADE (Wesley killed it, amazing flick from beginning to end)
#5. SPIDER-MAN 2 (Part 1 was average but a good start to the series, Part 3 was one of the worst comic book movies ever, but sandwiched in between is one of the greatest comic movies ever, Seeing this film finally brought Spider man to the Big Screen the right way, amazing movie)

My Top 5 WOAT SUPERHERO/COMIC FILMS:

#1 DAREDEVIL (BEN should be banned from ever doing anything comic related again)
#2. BATMAN AND ROBIN (EPIC FAILURE)
#3. SPIDER MAN 3 (DISASTER)
#4. FANTASTIC 4: RISE OF SILVER SURFER (WTF? Horrible)
#5. SUPERMAN 4 (The series fell from grace after Part 1 and 2)

HELL No. Spider-Man 2 (easily)>>>Batman 89.

Jack Nicholson's Joker is trash compared to Ledger and the storyline is garbage. Only Tim Burton's atmosphere and amazing design of Gotham even makes that movie worth watching. Keaton also has a bit more presence as Batman than Bale. But the storylineof TDK is EASILY better.

LOL @ Jack's Joker being Trash, Jack's Joker was so Iconic nobody could touch the role for 20 years, now you just hating. All Heath did was MATCH Jack's Epicness. Heath did a great job but Jack had better and more memorable lines than Heath did. Jack murdered the role and 20 years later Heath took the body and buried it. Bale's Batman was weaker. "Batman 89" had a great Joker and a Great Batman. TDK had a great Joker and a average Batman and I like Christian Bale, he's a really good actor but he wasn't a great Batman especially with that wack voice.

Batman Returns >>>>> SpiderMan 2-3
To be real with you Batman 89 still shits on some of the movies from the last decade Blade is one of them. Keaton was a good Batman but sucked as Bruce Wayne vise versa for Christian Bale.

I didn't want so many BATMAN's in my top 5 but I agree, "Batman Returns" is so slept on, people need to go back and watch it again, that movie was crack. I agree that Bale was a better Bruce but Keaton was the best bringing both characters together. Keaton was a great Batman and a Really good Bruce. Bale was a Average to Weak Batman and a Great Bruce.

TDK & BB were both great comic book films but I'll wait until the 3rd movie to drop before I'll say the batman franchise has set the bar. The Spider-Man movies were close but that 3rd movie went overboard with the villans.
