Capcom launches teaser site titled simply 'DD'
Capcom launches teaser site titled simply 'DD'
Posted by Catalyst on April 5, 2011 at 7:48 p.m.

Updated: Oldboy posted in the comments that Capcom registered a trademark for the name Dragon's Dogma, which seemingly matches up really closely with this teaser site.

Launching something that may or may not be fighting game related, Capcom Japan put up a new website with the title "DD" and a countdown timer ending in about 7 days.

There's an outline around the timer, and the silhouette is difficult to make out, but it doesn't appear to be Frank West this time around.

Capcom's Captivate event starts tomorrow and there will be an explosion of new information concerning their fighting games on April 12, 2011, when the press embargo is lifted.

If you have any idea what to make of this, or just want to speculate, feel free to leave a comment below.

Megaman Universe was canceled

Capcom has posted an apology and notice of cancelation on the official Japanese website for Mega Man Universe, an odd DIY Mega Man game that was scheduled to launch on Xbox Live Arcade and PlayStation Network later this year. The retro-styled platformer was a cheeky amalgam of remade Mega Man 2 levels, customizable characters (including the crooked caricature from the North American Mega Man 1 box art) and user-created levels.

According to Capcom's notice, the decision to extinguish Mega Man Universe was given impetus by "various circumstances." Those may involve the departure of Mega Man creator and Universe conceptual lead Keiji Inafune, who left Capcom in October 2010. We've requested further comment from Capcom.

i'll probably end up cracking down and buying it, even though i know i wont put enough time into it to be any good

i do find evil ryu interesting...plus i am glad to support fighting games, i don't want to go back to the dark period of nothing but fps games...

People are saying that "DD" shit with the timer might be counting down to a Breath of Fire VI reveal...

Teamspooky is saying that their are indeed 2 more characters in the dlc, probably will have to pay for an unlock later. Urien and gill possibly? I think we have enough 3s fighters personally so maybe it's r. mika, that's what justin says anyways. Air had a source tell him that gill was among the other characters, but he said he didn't belive it since the same source said that gill had an unblockable ultra that does 700damage. Sounds like trolling to me, but I could see urien and gill bein another set of brothers added.

I still think its R Mika since Ono been pushing hard for her since forever

And the original rumor was Alex and Rolento, Alex is the main character of SF3 so I can see him being added with SF3 3rd Strike Online coming soon

I dont see how Urien would work in this game since autoblock kinda ruins his aegis reflector mix ups

I just hope they using AE at EVO now

I think this is SF3 3rd Strike Online's new graphic enhancement

Ono posts another mysterious photo showing Ryu

Capcom's Yoshinori Ono has put up another mysterious photo on his Twitter account, showing Ryu. It's not immediately clear what the image is in relation to, but he posted a similar photo back in January showing Yun, which is on the right hand side.

Image of Ryu recently posted on Yoshinori Ono's Twitter account

Concerning the Yun picture, Ono left this remark, though:

Oh, SFIII 3rd Online so nice! It will be fun!! ;D

With the Captivate embargo being lifted on Tuesday morning, things should be a lot clearer soon, but until then it seems like Ono wants people to start speculating.

Alex and Roleto would be better

Gill and Urien would be Seth pt 3 look wise and R.Mika style is similar to el fuerte. Would prefer to see a diff style get represented

Alex is like Abel

Rolento has a unique style though he would be good

I still play Alpha3 online and R Mika is harder to block than Fuerte IMO, shes all over the place

This is cool but still pricey so basically capcom fucked us for 2 versions of a game 5.00 dollars for alternate outfits on the SFIV and now $24.99 for dlc characters on SSFIV smh damn ! BUT 3rd strike will be the business online i can't wait for that game !

The embargo is lifted today news should be coming soon

It sounds like a PC version of Super Street Fighter 4 is in the cards. Capcom's Yoshinori Ono left a few messages on Twitter implying there could be a release for it.

Ono-san, news of PC SSFIV on 12th of April? — ArtSaSF

Ono: May be exist or may be not. I can't say now. Please wait [until the] 12th ;D

When will we have SSFIV for PC? — IceBreakker

Ono: I cant twit about it topic... Please wait until 12th [of] April. 8 a.m. PST. ;)

Also, Christian Svensson got in on the fun and left this post on the Unity Boards.

Why has it taken so long to announce SSF4 on the PC? — pkt

Svensson: We'll talk in a couple days.

Finally, the ESRB has put up a listing for a PC Windows version of Super Street Fighter 4, along side the PS3 and Xbox 360 releases.

The evidence seems very strong that a PC release of Super Street Fighter 4 is planned for the future, but fans will likely have to wait until Tuesday morning for an official annoucement.
