There are two versions of DMC at the moment. The original Japanese version and this new EMO shit that's suppose to be Ninja Theories ( makers of Enslave video game) version.
Seeing as how the writer of this is the dude that fucked up Resident Evil, I wouldn't expect much. However, the bad ass hero theme of the RE movies is exactly what DMC has always been in the games. His style might do better for DMC.... only time will tell. But I'd expect another summer cliche action movie. The DMC series ain't popular for it's story. How stylish they tell it is going to be the deal breaker.
Plus the story itself has lots of loop holes and inconsistencies. Some sensitive christian feelings might get hurt with the original version of the game as well. I wouldn't be surprised if they use whatever Ninja Theory comes up with. Especially since they're the ones revamping it for the western audience.
