I think the iC rhetoric is so black and white people fail to see the bigger picture. This is a Capitalist market, and people are hell bent on making green. Simple and short! Heck, hoes advertising not to see brothers for marketing purposes but will still see brothers who pay.

“I believe that the international motion picture audience is racist — in general pictures with an African American lead don’t play well overseas,” the producer wrote.

He may be right though.

So they are reinforcing the overseas racist thinking. That makes them just as bad as the racist imo because they are playing into it.

So for everyone saying this isn't racist, how about someone not hiring a young black man as a salesman because generally, "people are less comfortable around black men" and the sales will be lower? And there are millions of other examples I and others can come up with.

The conditioning is real. You're supporting them and don't even know it.

To me, this just seems like an acknowledgment of racism, not racism itself.

its bending and adhering to a racist outlook on films and media, something that as a black man I cant and will never cosign

If it was a fact, I would agree, but how do they know how much race plays a part in it? I don't even understand how people in their position can be so primitive in their way of thinking, and come to random conclusions without more than fully supporting it with various models of regression analysis.

They are reinforcing what they think is a fact, despite something like race being extremely hard to measure. There are a bunch of other variables that noticeably affect the profit made from a movie, so why jump right to race? Maybe the script was bad, maybe they didn't put as much advertisement in the movie, maybe the movie came out at the same time as another movie that was more appealing or very similar, maybe the acting was bad etc.

Lol at you fucking idiots who clearly never graduated a business school.

There is something called branding and marketing if hollywood does not cast black stars then of course blacks won't sell good to an international audience. Blacks need branding and rebranding. The more we are pushed to more we will breakthrough.

We should put more pressure on Hollywood to break our stars internationally especially our more talented ones like denzel

thats a "sorry ass niggas" for u..

always want somethin given..

history has shown throughout the ages nothin is given.. everything is taken.. and in the face of all this evidence wants "to put pressure" on somebody to do somethin for them. hahahahaha

yeh okay..

Bruh... what? Stay on topic. What the producer said was misinformed and racist.
