Black men like light skinned women because black men like light skinned women.

You people really think that the minds of black men are so weak that we can be manipulated into preferring light skin In 2015. Foh.

I feel like this light skin & dark skin debate is like arguing if the right twix is better than the left twix. They both the same candy bar n shit.

Technically, to sensible people.. But you'd be surprised to see just how many niggas prefer brighter/lighter women. They don't even have a real reason, they just "like what they like;" They're quick to deny any sort of White Media brainwashing tho..

The only thing with this though is nobody would ever give anyone flack for saying they don't date light skin women and they only prefer dark skin women...and it's still a rejection of a group of black women no matter how you slice it.

Noping a black woman because she's a munter =/= Believing she's a munter because she's the color of Alek Wek.

Liking ass ( for instance ) and liking lighter skin aren't the same thing, at all.

There're generations of genetics to back up why males can't resist a female's physique and features. But consistently liking lighter women just because they're light. Nah, there's no defense for that.

Media is as powerful now as it has ever been. Niggas are no more liberated from ( White ) Media's influence simply because it's 2015. It's a nice thought, but sadly isn't the case..

This is a hypothetical, and you know it.

Where have you seen this happen in real life? Fucking nowhere.

And if you have seen it, it hasn't happened nearly as much as niggas out here proclaiming their love for bright/light skins.

Stop.

Dude that's u. Everybody aint U.

I like dark skinned women , but I aint worried if the next nigga do, or dont , or why or not.

Thats not my concern. They're not me, and im not them.

How that lady acted in the video, and in her tweets is ridiculous.

She clearly has an inferior complex ,which kendrick talked about in track 14. Go cop.

Kendrick is one of the few artists who actually show love to dark skinned chicks In his works.

And for her to attack Kendrick. says alot about her. U can show her ass all the appreciation she wants, and she'll never feel it, because she dont appreciate or love her self. Track 15. go cop.

Fam, I've already said that I'm not defending shorty. I'm defending the right to stand against Colorism.

I could not be worried about the next nigga or whatever, but Colorism would be swept under the rug if we all just let niggas "like what they like;" Because they don't just "like what they like." They like what White media has Told them to like, and that has had a real world, divisive effect within Our communities.

Brown/dark skinned women didn't start this Colorism bullshyt, but bright/light skinned women sure do perpetuate it by simply letting niggas "like what they like," because it's a perk that benefits them. That whole, "Oh yeah, I'm light skinned," shyt is real. A lot of light skinned women ( and niggas ) actually do ACT light skinned.. It's selfish and wrong.

This shorty may have been out of line, but turning the other cheek to the entire issue of Colorism itself isn't the right way to go about this.

Aint no way in hell, those words were typed by man fingers ....

So u gonna force niggas who don't like dark skinned women, to like dark skinned women???

I already told ya, it's about women, dark skinned women appreciating everything about their selves.

N Being fly, in the way they think, look, n approach life .

its like Zora Neale Hurston said "how can anyone deny themselves the pleasure of my company, is beyond me" ...

Theres a lot of dark skinned women who are cuffed up.

Every man is turned on by a confident and sexy woman who love herself.

women like that, got options out the ass. N R not worried about rappers personal lives, n other random men, because they got one holding them down.

Jill Scott is a big women, niggas will talk shit about fat women, but will fuck Jill in a heart beat. Because Jill is beautiful, confident, sure, and fly. Confidence comes from self love and appreciation. And make others appreciate u more.

what is your indepth analysis on this whole topic ?

Whats your take on Kendrick marrying a lighter complexion girl?

And what's your take in dark blk men n lighter women in general?

Do u agree/ disagree with the activist?

What's your analysis of her from watching the video below?

First I gotta say Kendrick or anyone can date who they want ... I have no problem with it, well as long as that person isn't downing anyone in the process

And I could be wrong but just from watching the video she seems like she's just trying to stir up some controversy for youtube hits

At the end of the day that doesn't make colorism any less real

And while I haven't experienced any negativity first hand, as a kid I seen how my darker skinned friends especially the females were teased about their skin color and how it lead them to having a poor self image

In highschool and beyond teasing wasn't so much a problem ... But one couldn't help but notice the guys gravitating more towards lighter skinned girls

Actually for some blk guys I know with dating lighter skinned girls both blk and white was a not only a preference but a step up

Not to mention you have blk entertainers and rappers declaring that they dont date dark girls while simultaneously parading around a bunch of racially ambiguous girls

Than when turning to the media, theres always limited or no depictions of beautiful dark skinned women further perpetuating this narrative that dark skin is unattractive

I can def see how it can a persons appearance can be a source of self doubt, pain

And just from peeping how my niece avoids the sun in the summer

I feel it's worth discussing the relationship between preference, self esteem, and the role popular/culture media has played in disseminating the ideal of light skin globally

Who's telling niggas who to like?

I'm just calling this affinity for bright/light skins out for what it is.

And I agree wholeheartedly that self love / confidence emit a radiance that simply can't be denied. But there are gangs of niggas who prefer brighter/lighter skinned women from jump, and it has absolutely Nothing to do with confidence or self love.

Brighter/lighter skinned women have always been told ( by White media and niggas alike ) that being mixed/lightskinned = being cute, and they have crowds of niggas following behind them to reinforce that notion.

But our browner/darker skinned women aren't told that save for the occasional, corny "Afrocentric" skit we see every blue moon. They have to amass an innate sense of self love / self worth, and not Nearly as many niggas rally behind them to bolster them up.

Do you not see the imbalance here?

Idk if u go outside ya house r not, but dark skinned women aint hurting for niggas...

Yea light skin women get waaay more attention.

But still, dark skinned chicks get attention too.

The fly confident ones are definitely aint hurting. I see alot of fly dark skinned sistas, being cuffed by blk men, n non blk men....

so Idk what u talking about.

Women get attention in general if they're hot. I see a lot of unattractive dark skinned people complaining but there's this thick Kenyan at work that I want to smash so bad.

They attribute it to a race thing, or colorism when it's far from the case. You're just not cute.

It's silly when dark skinned girls who are 5 on a 10 scale accuse black men of being colourstruck. You're not exactly kelly rowland or nia long.

I know u said some guys u know, see it as a step up, but

As u got older, is the dark skin light skin thing more prevelant, or less relevant amongst guys u know in your personal life?

as an adult, Do majority of the guys u know are still color struct, or have they evolved past that?

I know u stated the need for discussion, in addition to discussions, what steps do u think can take place, to help darker skin women/ girls in this society?

Plus, the attention our browner/darker skinned women don't get isn't due to a lack of self confidence / self love. It's because the ( White ) media doesn't put them on a pedestal like it does brighter/lighter skinned femmes.

These so called "ugly" brown/dark skinned women are only "just not cute" because they aren't bright/light. I've seen bonafide 5/10s get mad play just because they're bright/light, like lightbrights are 7s off top. Never seen that happen for a brown/dark skin femme. Ever.

Why a bytch gotta be Kelly Rowland or Nia Long to get a nigga's attention if she's browner/darker, but a lightbright can be average at best yet she got niggas tryna bring her lunch and drink her bathwater.

Which isn't just happening, there's a reason why it's happening ~ Colorism, which is a problem within Our communities. Our people, along with Whites, perpetuate this disgusting phenomenon.. It's a cousin of racism, at that..

.. But still, dark skinned chicks get attention too ..

"Oh, Black people still get jobs. I mean, the interview turn down / unemployment rates are a lot higher, but y'all niggas still get jobs tho."

You see how you sound?

Plus, the attention our browner/darker skinned women don't get isn't due to a lack of self confidence / self love. It's because the ( White ) media doesn't put them on a pedestal like it does brighter/lighter skinned femmes.

.. The fly confident ones are definitely aint hurting. I see alot of fly dark skinned sistas, being cuffed by blk men, n non blk men....

so Idk what u talking about ..

Fam, just because you don't want to see or talk about this fairly prominent issue within our community doesn't mean it doesn't exist. Sweeping the issue under the rug and telling the ones who do see it as a problem to just be "fly n confident" isn't going to make the problem go away.

Yes it does, u dont get it. Its not about attention , its about them having low self esteem.

as an individual, everybody is not gonna find u attractive. That's life. But if you r self confident n fly, it won't matter to u.

like the Zora Neale quote power phrased ,"o fucking well" ...thats confidence .

If blk women want to combat colorism, theyre gonna have to have confidence.

If u don't believe in ya self. U have no confidence. If u have no no self confidence. u lack self trust. U lack self trust, u lack self love. If u lack self love, u'll end up like the activist bitch in the video; angry, bitter, broken confused, and lonely.

Please dark skin ladies, dont end up like the bitch in the vid. Get u some self confidence. N love ya self.
