I know im late as hell, but i heard there is a special piece you need to hook your PS3 up to it, anybody know what its called and how much it cost? i wanna cop both at the same time.

also i heard once you hook your PS3 up to HD tv's you can no longer hook them back up to conventional TV's any truth to that?

You don't need any special piece....however I would suggest some hdmi cables......and if your switching from conventional to hd.....you are gonna have to do something with your settings....but I don't know exactly....you might wanna check some youtube directional videos

An HDMI cable.

When you hook up the PS3 to the HDTV the PS3 will automatically change its video settings to hi def to match the TV its plugged into. If you plan to hook it back up to a conventional TV after, go to video settings and change it back before you do, or else when you do hook it up, the screen will be blank and you will have to hold down the button on the system for w short while for it to revert to its factory setting.

buy a REGULAR hdmi cable. dont buy the expensive hdmi cables, they all serve the same purpose. if you change the video settings to 1080p on your PS3 for your new HDTV you wont be able to see the video on your conventional tv due to the new settings. you can always RESET the ps3 video settings to default by holding down the power button if you dont see a picture when you boot up on the old tv. btw, why would you want to go back to the old tv?

On the real, I didn't know you could buy cheap ones because I wasn't sure if the cheap ones were as good but I paid $50 for mine. You can get 'em cheaper, I think like 10-20 bucks. But mine is a long cable as well, and it serves well because my PS3 is quite far from my tv.

Make sure your TV has at least 120 Htz.Makes the game look smoother, sharper and cuts out screen tear.Hot a 260 htz Bravia and that shit is beast for gaming, movies and TV.

Can't really answer that. I don't live in America so my prices are quite different due to customs duties and taxes. But I think from as low as US$ 10 to as much as US$ 100 for high quality ones.

Matter of fact, I think the set I bought were US$ 120 on Amazon.

I bought some monster hdmi cables off ebay for twenty bucks.....i remember when i first started exploring prices......129 dollars for some fuckin cables FOH!!!

yeah, buy the most inexpensive hdmi cables you can find. hdmi signal is 100% digital. you either get a signal, or you don't. spending mad dough on monster cables isn't gonna get you a better picture. only reason i would recommend buying better cables is if you move your ps3 around alot.

As long as the cable has a gold end you are good because they support full 1080p.Though most games are 720.
