My mother is from the Dominican Republic....She acknowledges the African Ancestory of the Island.....But, I ask all Dominicans this....How the fuck are you not Black and you share a Island with Haiti? They were divided by their colonialist.....Spain and France. because Jamaicas education was from the british, yeah we were taught their history but not much of the african.
That isn't to say we are unaware of slavery(totally false) and through simple educating ourselves jamaicans definitely do not have an identity crisis when it comes knowing our ancestry.
As far as specifics like what tribes we were from.....yeah like most blacks we dont truly have an accurate account of that.
