Both Phrenology and Things Fall Apart are REALLY good, I went with Phrenology though after some thinking but both are pretty equal for me...

If you like the darker jazzier type of beats Roots-shit then Things Fall Apart is awesome...

Phrenology is a whole lot of different styles, more mainstream...

Phrenology is nice, but I don't think it's really one of their best albums, Break You Off is a great record though:

How I Got Over is one of the most current releases you'll hear from them and it really showcases the brilliance of Black Thought and the group as a whole:

The Tipping Point contained one of my favourite beats from The Roots:

Rising Down was another great release:

Illadelph Halflife is a great album as a whole, real classic record, this was their second record and the sounds on here are up there with some of their best:

Finally, Things Fall Apart is another great release… perhaps best known for its crazy front cover:

Another great release from The Roots and arguably one of their best… Return to Innocence Lost is a memorable record, very ill.

It's difficult to sum up a group that has 13 records, but hopefully some of these videos will lead you to more… 'cos we want more (in reference to their album, Do You Want More?), always!

As for their best album, to me it's How I Got Over. I have always loved The Roots since Phrenology dropped, but that album to me was flawless… I'm a tad too young for releases such as Illadelph Halflife to have that 'I remember when it dropped moment,' but I think if I had, Illadelph Halflife would be my favourite album…

Things Fall Apart has the best guest appearances.

Or The Tipping Point if you're a fan of rappers just spitting.

I think Things Fall Apart is the best. They are all just as good as eachother, the easiest way i can explain it is Rising Down and Game Theory are the weakest 2 imo. but they are still great albums. just the weaker of the albums haha.

C/s, but it's a toss up between that and "Do You Want More" and this my all time fav Roots joint right here, and if you've ever seen them in concert you get your money's worth

That's a tough choice. Things Fall Apart is easily their most complete and influential album, but I also love their earlier, more jazzy and organic albums (Do You Want More, Illadelph Halflife). How I Got Over and Game Theory are near classic status in my book - these are perhaps the most lyrical of all Roots albums and Game Theory is unique thanks to paranoic, dark production. Tipping Point is their weakest link.
