Your tax dollars pay police salaries, it's their job to serve and protect. Your tax dollars paid for the bullets that killed this man and many others (if this man wasn't "innocent", many other police victims are). Thugs, on the other hand, don't claim that they're upholding the law or that their behavior is just or necessary, of course criminals are going to behave like criminals, they're criminals and everyone recognizes them as that. When thugs kill people, they go to jail, it's generally acknowledged that their behavior is unacceptable. If there's a double standard between hating the police and making a big show when they kill someone and not making the same hoopla when civilians kill civilians it's because the police can get away with it, they have a free pass to murder (again, with guns and bullets paid for by your tax dollars).

You are right, the concern should be equal but it's so obvious as to why it isn't and race isn't the only factor.

This weekend had 3 people killed by cops in the chi

All 3 had a weapon and pointed at the cops

If you have a weapon and point it cops u will die period + 2 cops got shot last night in garfield park so it will get worst

The reason i hold police to a higher standard then i hold the average hood shooting is because the police hold their own selves to a higher standard.

When a police is shot the whole city gets locked down, if its you're word against the police then the police will get the benefit of the doubt, police have the power to arrest you at anytime and just say you were disorderly, or not obeying. So yeah they should get held to a higher standard.

Right. For a regular joe we are guilty til proven innocent. for a cop he's innocent til proven guilty.

B/c i bet that if this were me shooting you. I would be arrested and processed sitting in a cell looking fucked up right now. This cop will just get questioned by his superiors who will be looking out for him. Will get to go home and be on leave while getting paid pending further investigation. Then the DA might just might press charges. then he'll get a jury of his peers and will be found not guilty. They get a privelage teh rest of us don't get.
