So does that mean we'll just get another repetitive album about street fairytales with great production under a new label?

Whats wrong with that?

Its better than an album about street fairytales with sub-par production.

Smh, no, old nigga. The point is, it's business as usual and the label change is insignificant.

His last album bricked so I understand the change. Not a good sign tho if MMG is signed to a completely different label than the boss, why didn't he just sign to Atlantic or move the whole label to Epic ? Tells me that Ross might not even fully own MMG as a record label.

Mark my words tho Wale is going to change labels.... Meek is going under for a while, Ross isn't selling like he used to, Wale is coming up, getting more exposure, there's no reason for him to still be signed to them. He's the biggest artist on that squad and he can get more money, more creative control and better handling of his projects elsewhere.

MMG was a good incubator for him when he was still trying to find his lane, not anymore.

idk if his album bricked....nowadays sales don't equal success. Im positive he doesn't own all of MMG, as it would be dumb as hell for DJ to even write that contract up....more than likely a 60/40 w. distro.

He'd be a fool to sign to Atlantic himself because Jeezy would preside over him, his ego way to big for that, and I feel like that shit still aint over.

As far as Wale.....Im just not a fan of dude so I can't even speak objectively. That nigga just plain garbino IMO, on every level.

LOLOL @ the sales comment, a few weeks ago when it was 50 vs Ross threads niggas was getting reeaalll choosey. I agree with Wale comment, I never liked him but I do think he has potential.

It says a lot tho if Ross would rather leave his imprint under Jeezy like that and save his own hide. At the same time I thought him and Jeezy squashed their beef with War Ready ? Shhiieeeett

I saw that thread, easiest way to summarize my thoughts on that are impossible. I know 50 personally, outside of rap shit. I'd be bias with that comment as well. But I think its funny that Ross can make claims like 50 sales are lacking when sales are lacking in general across rap.

The Jeezy/Ross thing is supposedly squashed, but the same thing with 50 goes for Jeezy, I know that nigga outside some rap shit too, so opinion would be one-sided. However, I still think there's some tension there, only because I THINK Ross has to uphold a certain heir about himself that he can't do by championing truces.

Hopefully his Epic deal works out for him. Hopefully its for less than three albums. Because I don't see his sales increasing at all....I also can't see him signing nothing similar to a 360. But at this point, only thing he really good for is shows.
