But I also think it depends on what your lane is. Look at Kanye/Jay and Drake/Wayne. Because both Drake and "Ye's material is both more poppish yet conscious, they are able to succeed without infringing too much on their bosses/"big brothers" enough for them to feel threatened.

Or the representation is good enough that both Jay/Wayne know that Ye/Drake could easily take their talents elsewhere and not lose a step. Probably at different points of time, a mix of both.

Jay is different.. look where he comes from.. the Roc is one label that put they niggas on.. Jay is Jay.. he aint got shit to worry about.. maybe thats the reason behind it.. but one thing a nigga from the Roc cant say is they didnt get they minutes..
