I got his new cd Shock Value 2. Yes, having that CD is a loss in itself, but since I bootlegged it, its a only a semi-loss.

Actually, risking a virus just to download a Timbaland CD is an even greater loss..hm...

Anyway, the CD is terrible. Why? Because Timbaland is on it. If he had given those beats and tracks to real artists its great.

smh @ Timbaland ruining his own album
.

Basically. Timbaland could have some classics in those Shock Value albums had he replaced himself as the lead artist and just let the beats do the talking. That song he had where he talked over the beat while Elton John played the piano from the last album would've been monumental had it featured vocals from Beyonce, Alicia Keys or both on the same track. "Tomorrow In A Bottle" from the new album would've stood out more had it featured an Eminem verse. The intro could've been extended into a full track w/ a Jay Z verse. "Carry Out" would've been more crazier had it just featured Justin. "Meet In The Middle" could've used T.I. "Say Something" could've used the Lupe verse. "Can You Feel It" would've been crazy had it featured Andre 3000 and just kept Timbo on the chorus and Esthero's part of the song.

I don't think that's the problem. The thing is he's not inspired by Hip Hop anymore which would be a problem if he tried to force something that isn't there. He could do more than just talk though and actually come up with something new that isn't exactly Hip Hop, but introduce a new sound. There are very few Hip Hop producers out there doing anything new in comparison to when he first stepped on the scene. Organized Noize, Earthtone 3, The Neptunes, Dr. Dre,Swizz, Mannie Fresh, Wyclef & Jerry Wonder, RZA, Rocwilder, and countless others were always coming out with something different in the 90's and the early part of this decade. Slowly, each one of them became more and more obscure and only do tracks here and there. Now it's just The Neptunes, DJ Dangemouse, and maybe Kanye who are pushing the creative envelope production wise.
