Put the South on the map! Kast classic and cold as hell on this joint

I don't understand why people say Outkast put the South on the map. There were quite a few rap groups from The South before Outkast;

2 Live Crew

DJ Magic Mike

Tag Team

69 Boys

MC Shy D

MC Twist

Geto Boys

I would ask you guys to explain it, but you're probably too young to remember.

People barely looked at the south before Outkast, the references, southern pride oozed out them....

I'm still a huge UGK and Geto Boy fan don't get me wrong, maybe im biased because I grew up with 'Kast...

Do me a favour paatna, listen to the last line on the Aquemini album

I remember first hearing this joint. It was when Hot97 had their Battle of the Beats and it lost to some song I can't remember the name to. But Player's Ball was so dope to me after I got out of school the next day I ran and got the cassette single.

OK, "The South got something to say/that's all I got to say"

But what does that have to do with the 2 Live Crew?

Outkast gave the south legitimate credibility, lyrically it was undeniable that they belonged in the upper echelons of Hip Hop.
